The newest fad evidently appears to be RSS news feeds. Here is some free software to read these things. What is the best RSS feed reader? I have no idea. I just know this software works.

As a test only, I added this RSS feed link from Broken Frontiers. I don't visit Broken Frontiers for the most part, but I saw the link and figured I'd give it a try.

Here is a Firefox plugin to read them in your browser:

I'll try to add anything else I find in the future.

Here is a different FireFox plugin for the feeds....
Feedview 0.9.8 "Feedview shows newsfeeds/blogs in a more stylish way. Without the extension Firefox just shows the default xml stylesheet. It also adds the ability to add a livemark and the ability to switch article lengths."

Again, here is my RSS experiment in progress. http://topps13.tripod.com/rss/RSS.html Note: clicking it won't do any good for some reason. Cut and Paste it into the address bar or you can single click the link and drag it to the Firebird address bar.

Whoa!!!
I really do NOT understand this RSS feed stuff your referring to Q...I think a more layman's explaination for simple-minded ones like myself would help me. I just clicked on this link at work....Big mistake! First it gave me a link that was dead and 2 pop-ups. I exited all 3, but a page kept loading on its own! Good thing it was the end of the work day and we were not busy. I kept closing the window and finally it stopped.
Whew....
That could have been bad for me.
| Turns out you do need to check if all the pages are there

Tripod, the free host loaded the popups. They should be harmless ads as opposed to porn links or anything to get you in trouble. If you aren't running IE7, you won't be able view the link. Will they let you upgrade to IE7? If they run your network, like our company runs theirs, your software is about a year out-of-date and the link won't do you any good.
If not, you need to be runnimg Firebird with some special plugins.
RSS is the way everything is going. It is fast replacing email mailing lists.
RSS feeds are great for ebay auctions.

With my computer crashes, I'm tired of reconstructing my RSS feeds. That is one reason I have not updated it in awhile.
Regardless, I still think RSS is a great tool. Unfortunately the hosts of RSS feeds are starting to incudes ads ans spam from what I understand.
Here is a site which offeres RSS spam filtering.
