Defiant1, is it possible to see any of these scans ? (or possibly even the whole thing ?)

My files are still out of sync from where they need to be. They are sitting on an unplugged hard drive like the odd person out in a game of musical chairs. I do have access to a few pages.

The cover:

Page #1 of the story...

Page #6 of the story. I believe this is Spire's first appearance and he only appeared in this comic:

Page #14 of the story. Spire & the Knights On Broadway. This comic predates KOB#1 I believe. The actual page looks better than this scan:

Page #15 of the story. Star Seed (Cor) stops in to assist the others:

That's all I have access to post.

THANKS for posting this... I remember seeing this somewhere. Great looking cover...

It's a weird paper. I feel that it is very susceptible to damage even with average handling. I put three backing boards behind my copy and then placed it into an oversized hard plastic holders just like those used for baseball cards (but bigger).

New MOB for sale...

http://cgi.ebay.com/CGC-9-6-Broadway-Vid....tem110280790446

Is it a coincidence that Mile High no longer has theirs listed?
Also, for anyone who doesn't have it or for anyone who hasn't seen inside, won't the *censored* case frustrate the hell out of them?

A coincidence in what way? This isn't the copy Mile High owned if that's what you meant. This copy is owned by a valiantfans board member, he was trying to sell it both there and the *censored* board, but I guess no one bit.

I'm pretty sure this is the copy Janet Jackson recently sold on the valiantfans board through svair.

I just find it very odd that Mile High is not listing theirs opposite this one. I've only seen the Mile High copy 'not' listed a few weeks out of the past year. I also find it odd that Janet had a second copy after telling me how difficult it was to get even one. I bought mine from Janet. Regardless, it'll be interesting to see if it meets reserve. My bet is that it won't.

reserve is $450, so it might if someone wants it bad enough. It won't be me, though. :(

Wow! I need to do a double take on this post. I am shocked.

I'd be willing to buy a second one, but not for that much. If I didn't already have one, I'd be very frustrated that it's in a *censored* case. I would think people want a copy they can read without cracking a case. I think the case might actually discourage people from buying it.

I tried to buy this particular copy when it was unslabbed, but the guy who bought it offered more. I wouldn't have slabbed it.

Did you say who bought it? If I knew who bought it I might be inspired to not offer anything.

What are your opinions...

The high bidder has a 14% bid activity with the seller. That seems high to me. Could it be a shill?

no, I don't believe it's a shill. The 14% (it said 13% when I looked) of his bids are all on this auction. In the last 30 days, this buyer has placed 22 total bids on 19 different items. Three of those 22 bids are on this auction, which works out to 13.63% (14% if you round up)

The seller is chainnball from the Valiant boards. I trust him, as we met in NYC and even shared a hotel room with two other Valiant fans one of the nights there. (Trying to say that and NOT have it sound gay is somewhat tough!)

So being married is just a front!? Just kidding. I can't justify to myself spending a night in a hotel just to attend a convention. Even at Heroes Con I make it a one day trip when I go.

So that's what the coloring section looks like! Very cool! Thx for posting that!

When you said the paper feels weird up there...is the cardstock glossy?

I found the weirdest comic to hold was an issue of Ultimate Spider Man #33. That comic had a real thin glossy, laminated kind of paper on all the pages that felt like melting film in a way. Real easy to bend up the spine if not held right.

Looking at the glossy M.O.B. cover gave me the impression it's very thin cardstock. :o

Definitely not glossy. Fairly thin, but I'd call it card stock. Don't know how to describe it.
