Just a quick question, with the variant cover of issue #4, were these books only supposed to be signed by Angelo on the back COA, or were they supposed to be signed on the front cover, as well, by both Angelo and Mike along with the back COA? I ask because the copy I have currently has no sigs on the cover, but a copy I just won on eBay does. Just curious...

My understanding is that the signatures for the "signed editions" appear on the back cover on the COA. If I saw one signed on the front cover I'd assume it was an extra signature. Defiant1

Keeping in mind that my memory's not what it used to be, I'm pretty sure the variants were only signed by me on that back cover COA. If the front cover bears both signatures, then it was probably done at a convention. Or perhaps it was done by special request.

I thought maybe I had found a variant of a variant! I'm just glad to have found a Sinnamon variant on eBay, haven't seen one on there in a long time!

I think a retailer in California used to really promote Sinnamon. I believe the name is "High Quality Comics". A company n Florida was promoting them also, but I can't remember their name. If you could contact some of the larger retailers that were really aware of Sinnamon, you'd have better odds of locating the variants.

Defiant1 I'm aware of "High Quality Comics", in fact, they used to offer a near complete set of Sinnamon on eBay, but I think they wanted double cover price for them or something near that. I'd be afraid to see what kind of price they would want for the variants. As a matter pf fact, this companies' prices are sky high on just about everything. I'm not aware of the Florida company. I recall that the Sinnamon Saga #2 variant cover was supposed to be a Comic Cavalcade variant, but I had so much trouble the last time I dealt with them (for their exclusive Prime ashcan with gold lettering) that I vowed never to deal with them again.

I remember you had problems and I've heard other horror stories. I believe they list things they've sold out of. How difficult is it to have one person to delete text from a web page after a product is sold? I prefer not to deal with companies that can't tell you what they have and can't respond or ship in a timely fashion. It's just a lack of respect for the customer, his time, AND his money. Defiant1

Hey, Brother J! I'm curious - what variants are you looking for? I think Defiant 1 has figured out every variant I published. I don't have any of Saga #1 variant, so I'd like to know if you're missing anything else.

It was a nice round number, #25 out of 500 and was signed by Angelo on the back as well as the two gold signatures on the front cover.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, Brother J! I have to go dig around to see if I can find any copies of that variant #5. I shouldn't have ANY, but I recall giving one to cover artist Nick, so there may be some lurking somewhere. Bear with me a bit longer, okay? Oh, and keep your fingers crossed!

You were going to get it from him after the new book came out and send BAT and Bruiser together. The printer was so backlogged that you sent Bruiser by itself. I assumed you hadn't seen him since the new book came out. defiant1

After I wrote that post, I decided to go dig around. Before I could get out of my chair, the phone rang. It was a pal in Winnipeg with whom I'm working on a short horror flick. By the end of the call, I came up with an idea, so I wrote up a new scene for the movie. All this in the space of an hour or two! No wonder I'm so befuddled all the time. I'm sorry. Why am I digging around again?

Who says this isn't the Catfish Era of Going That Extra Mile? I dug and I struck pay dirt, baby! I got some copies of the #5 variant! But ouch! Talk about digging! The box was located at the very back of the crawl space, wedged under a heating pipe. I guess the yoga and specialized exercise is helping, because if I had tried to pry that box out a few months ago, I'd be in bed now. So there's going to be a new pricing level for these comics. It's a penny for the book plus a Discomfort Tax. The more it hurts to dig out the book, the more I charge! ;D

Bumping this post up. This was the thread where Angelo mentioned he was going to dig up some books. BTW, I also still need that variant to Sinnamon #5.
So the books I'm looking for are:
#5 (the Vault of Comics variant) #12 (Nick Poliwko Cover) Sinnamon Saga #1 (Comic Cavalcade variant)

He never came through with a #5 variant? I thought he did. I also thought he had a few #12's with the Poliwko cover.
Hmm!

The emails slowed down cause we are going over the same discussions we've had in the past. He did send me an article today, so I've replied and asked about the comics. Defiant1

I found them! I was embarrassed to admit I had no idea where I put those few copies of the #5 variant, but I just acted on a hunch and there they were!
Hmm. I've gotta run - I had time when I signed in, but the phone rang and time flew!
Email me at catfish-comics@rogers.com
P.S. No C.C. variants - they were all shipped directly to the dealer.

I received the Sinnamon #5 variant and Sinnamon #12 in the mail yesterday. Very happy to finally have them, as they NEVER pop up on eBay. Thanks, Angelo! Make sure you answer my e-mail so I can get some dough to you for these books.

The numbered ones were distributed through one specific retailer (Vault of Comics), so any unnumbered ones would've come straight from Angelo. An unnumbered one would be rarer than a numbered one because this was exclusive to one retailer and no other retailers (theoretically) sold it. I thought mine were all unnumbered, but I found a numbered one. I'm not sure how I got both.
