I doubt the glow-in-the-dark t-shirts were ever really mass produced. It was one of the last solicited items in previews. I'm sure the order was probably cancelled with the manufacturer. Test samples might not exist. Some things are going to be so rare that you will probably never see them. That would include things like toy prototypes etc.
I was told a toy company made a sample of plasm goo. The Defiant video had a Lorca statue in it if I recall correctly.

Jim, Just curious if you already knew about and had the Defiant QVC posters we recently won on eBay. Did you discover a new Defiant item there? Mark

That was pretty cool the way you and technique and I all bid on our own and didn't compete with each other...

Seemed like we had an unspoken pact not to bid on one another's posters. I don't know who technigue is, but he seems to be one of the biggest Defiant collectors in existence.

I would say his collection is almost as extensive as mine.i have collected Defiant and only Defiant since 1993 and have spent over $2,000.00 so far. jim

Yes thats true in this case i left the other two alone.if it was just one poster things would have been different lucky for us this time. are you collecting Defiant promo stuff and the books? if so i have extras of almost everything for trading.let me know what you are looking for. jim

Jim, I think one of those posters could've gone for over 50.00, but since he listed all five at once he got far less. I haven't really committed to collecting all the Defiant stuff. I just bid on what I like and can afford. I don't have any extra Defiant stuff to trade. I bought a couple of those Good Guys original art pages that were auctioned off a few months ago. I know some people didn't like the Good Guys, but I really enjoyed the concept and stories.

I've been under the impression there was only 1 level 3 per pallet. I would assume a pallet holds 9 cases. I don't know how many sleeves per case, but you can see how the odds of getting one are remote. Add on top of that that some shrewd dealers can identify patterns of where chase cards are placed in the sleeves or they can "feel" the packs and figure it out. Unfortunately, I won't be able to help in your search because i don't collect the cards. Good Luck. Defiant1 RSS link

back in 93 when i found my first level 3 card i took it to the shop that i bought the box from.one of the employees collected Defiant as well and he told me the odds of a level 3 card were 1 in every 5,000 packs.i think he was right.

I have tried to get my 2 boys into comics. I take them with me to the LCS and I have taken them to a few conventions as well.
My oldest boy has the bigger interest in it, but even his is pretty limited. He spends his time going through the dumpster boxes and picking out covers he likes. He has a pretty decent collection of Captain America now. He also buys from time to time books that cost a few dollars (like $6 or so). He gets my opinion on it of whether or not he should get it. I try not to say anything that will discourage him unless I just think the book isnt worth even that little bit of money.
My youngest son has little interest in it. He usually grabs a Simpson's book and sits down and reads it while the rest of us looks. He usually wants a Yu-gi-oh card before we leave. He has amassed what amounts to a small box. But, he doesnt care about them.
In both cases, the boys bring them home and box them up and they just sit there. I try convincing them to read an issue or 2, but why do that when they can just play a video game? The video games win out.
I think now that my oldest son has a job and some serious spending money, if I can get him to another show or something, he might become more serious. He has potential. He seems to truly like looking through the boxes. I just need to him to be more interested on the book inside, the characters, the values, the collectability. If I can just get him to expand a bit more besides a favorite cover, he might carry comics with him. But, thats hard to do when they just wont read them.

Nothing entices a person more than knowing that you paid 30 cents for a comic that is now worth $100. Kids also like the idea of seeing something old that existed before they did, or before you did. It throws their mind outside of the ordinary. Even the ads in old comics can fascinate them. Q
