I was finally able to get 2 Cheesasaurus Rex books and the spaghetti book. ;D I got the english versions of Cheese Rex and there's actually 2 different issues for the title. The pic up there with the "airship cover" looks to actually be issue 2 (dated 1993) and with a different story from the first Cheesasaurus comic. The english version has a different color in the title logo from spanish "airship" cover. The spaghetti book is pretty cool too. Great coloring. These comics are so thin and fragile. Kinda like tracing paper.... So, you have confirmed that the one I have in spanish exists in english as well, and that it is the second issue. And for the first issue I have production material with spanish texts. Then it seems extremely likely to me that also issue 1 exists in spanish. Wonder if TheO also exists in spanish? /Magnus

When I opened the package, I thought I had scored the spanish version when I saw the "airship" art until I read the title "...Revenge of Cheesefinger" in english. ;D And the main title is colored orange instead of red. I wonder if the KFC book ever had a second issue as well since it ends in a cliffhanger. Maybe TheO does have a spanish version out there like the others... I'm surprised they don't have the TheO book posted on the "Illustrated Media" site too.

Not at all rare, but since we've talked about other early books here, I'll show these: As you had noticed I quickly mentioned them at the VCS. The Nintendo book is a CD insert. It's marked 1991 which puts it rather early. Some song listings and credits, but mainly story pages like the ones shown (8 pages). The game book is the same size as the game. Only pages 22 to 29 of 32 (cover pages not numbered) contain the story, but it is a real comic story. If the (C) 1990 is correct, it is a very early work. /Magnus

... As for Cheesasaurus I have one in english (the one above) and one in spanish with different contents. There is no indicia in the english one (only (c) 1992), while the other one has indicia that states it is produced by Voyager (in 1993, indicia written in english). KFC and Theo (a similar book about spaghetti) also mention Voyager. Somewhere I also have some script notes for a spanish Cheesasaurus, not sure which of the two. I would assume both exist in both languages. /Magnus PS, how about the Mallard Nintendo hardcovers? How rare are they? My pic of the 4 food books came out a bit blurry tonight but you can see the English version of the 1993 Cheese Rex "airship" issue has an Orange logo instead of Red like the Spanish edition:

Not real bright. The guy says local pick-up only, but his location is listed as United States. Am I supposed to read his mind as to whether I'm a qualifies bidder? Actually, I'm not since I don't have an eBay account. He specifically says he won't split the lot in his ad. Defiant1

I finally came across one of the "Valiant Food" books in the wild, pulled an "Adventures of the O" from a 50 cent box at a local show.

I've restructured the list to align more with my impression of what's out there and it's likelihood to surface for collectors. 1 - Seven #2 preview 2 - Miracle on Broadway 3 - VCS Unity HC 4 - Cheesasaurus Rex (1993 -"Airship") Spanish 5 - Cheesasaurus Rex (1993 -"Airship") English 6 - Seven #1 7 - Plasm #0 *(Stand-Alone with staple) 8 - Adventures of TheO 9 - Kenny Kid Hop Hop (Spanish) 10 - Kenny Kid Hop Hop (English) 11 - Cheesasaurus Rex (1992) Spanish 12 - Fatale HC 13 - Diamond Unity Book 1 14 - Diamond Unity Book 2 15 - Spanish Prudence & Caution #2 16 - Magnus vs. Predator Trade 17 - Cheesasaurus Rex (1992) English 18 - Nintendo Sneak Preview 19 - Spanish Prudence & Caution #1 20 - Birth Of the Defiant Universe Honorable Mention: Mint copies of any of the $1.50 Nintendo reprints

That seemed to have only been released at that 2007 Seven launch party and I doubt those made to the Kabbalah centers too. Maybe the creators still have comp copies hidden somewhere. The most i've heard about that comic was that it was an ashcan b&w from one of Shooter's blog entries. I bet the party goers at that flashy launch event probably tossed them in the garbage along with their monthly Vogue and In Style magazines back then.

Defiant1 Maybe she'll let some loose to commemorate the 7th Anniversary of Seven #1 in 2014. (yea right) I had wondered if any were given out at that year's NYCC (October 2007?) booth too with any promo folders or anything. I only have the CD disc with the digital pages from the VCS project. They never did send me those printout pages in that project package. I dunno if there's anything special about the printout pages or stamps on it. I can probably have the same effect with a color printer here.

I bet VK never got the copy I paid for him to get either. He doesn't seem to care. That's a pretty dirty trick the way Ryan took my money and JayJay quit answering emails. I hate to say this, but I really lost a lot of respect for JayJay after that. The pictures of them shipping out the packages was a dog and pony show. The whole "project" never made any sense to me. Most of us just wanted the comic. There seems to be a whole level of fakeness about it all. Ryan dropped off the face of the map after all of this. He doesn't post on his own board. JayJay registers the Dark-Key domain and does the graphics, then Svair is the supposed admin at that board? I get that they are friends, but c'mon! It all looks like a little shell game to me. And when I say I forgot... I never completely forget being screwed over. It just goes on a back burner and I keep it for future reference. Defiant1

I always felt there were too many people trying to make a buck off other people's creativity around these projects. The original fan books done at the Valiantfans web page were good, they were not for profit. The later stuff were people trying to make a buck and then not coming through with the goods.

Defiant1 Yea, it took a little bit of a rant on an old thread to get them to ship the one comic. I think savir got on top of it and shipped it but it was still an incomplete package. I learned my lesson! I'd be embarrassed to take money so quickly and then slowdance on shipping items to people. I'm a same day shipper when it comes to getting paid and I give my quick buyers priority on shipping things. Even if i'm tired that night and i'll wrap it for morning dropoff at the post office. I know life gets in the way of things sometimes but when months and a year goes by, it's a bit inconsiderate especially when high amounts are involved. I tried to get in on the unity hc and I only found one copy off a reseller on ebay. That was another hard to get item and I was ready to pay through the Vcs site but I always got the runaround on that one. Sometimes the hunt for these odd items leaves such a bad taste that I'd just rather resell the thing again.

If a book is very common and they want to make a "project" out of it with signatures, I think it's pretty cool. They should be able to churn those out for about the cost of postage. Taking already obscure books and turning those into project books seems like a waste of a book that doesn't need a bump in price. I feel like the project took a rare book and damaged them all. I'd say it definitely became a money grab towards the end. Defiant1

I also believe a lot were printed. I just don't feel a lot will be accessible to collectors and many may have been destroyed. At some point there will probably be a warehouse find and it'll be revealed that there is a boat load full of NM copies out there. Defiant1

Cheese Rex 2 (airship cover 1993) isn't mentioned much on the Shooter blog except for the script upload. I bet they probably don't know it was really printed. Maybe it was produced after Shooter left Valiant and they re-used his old script for the sequel comic.

I want to give an honorable mention shout out for those WWF Fatale Serialized comic strips too: www.jimshooter.com/2012/01/traci-adell-wwf-fatale-on-tv-and-web-of_06.htmlIf they do exist in print form at all... I haven't found of full set of old wwf issues to confirm it's existence yet. There are about 5 issues i'm missing from the top 20 list. Not really in a crazy hunt for the leftovers though. Seven #2 looks to be the most unpossible of them all.
