I remember them, but I own only a small number of DH books in relation to everything else. This video shows that Defiant had their eyes on what Dark Horse was doing in other media.

Hopefully this is better. Part 1 . Part 2 Gene These videos were kinda interesting. It's amazing how 15 years can make such a difference. I seen Drew Carey on tv last night and he looked so old. It's amazing to see how young looking he was here. He also had the most animated face in the biz. It's what set him apart. He seems to have lost a bit of what he had here. Also, I never remember Dark Horse being THIS cool. Do I?......Nah, I really dont. The 2nd vid with the computer animations seem so state of the art for the time. When I think of what was available on computer in 1993-1994, its amazing to come up with this, but now it seems like this is stuff we can do ourselves and now Hollywood is blowing this kind of stuff away and this almost seems cheesy now.

Drew Carey and Jim Carey are of course different people. I assume you made a typo. The internet was just starting to expand back in 1994. The special effects were state of the art. I think Dark Horse had the right connections, but I don't really see how they kept them. I think they produced a lot of duds like Tank Girl, Dr. Giggles etc. Maybe they made money... not sure... but I wouldn't call them cool by any means. The MASK ripped it's humor from old Warner Bros. cartoons. Jim Carey did a good job.

I wonder if they had anything to do with "Son of the Mask." I recently picked up this old "Wolf & Red" mini series they did in '95: www.darkhorse.com/Search/Browse/wolf+%26+red/PpwNwkt8I think the "Wolf" face cartoon comes out in the first Mask when Cameron Diaz comes out.

Didn't know they did anything with the Avery stuff. It must've been straight to video. I do remember them doing that face. The MASK was a decent movie, but Carey stole the show and Cameron Diaz still looked cute. She lost it after that movie. Don't like seeing her in movies now. Defiant1
