I finally got one of these jackets last Spring! I was wondering if anyone knows how many of these were made? It is a quality jacket, which appears to have been never worn over that past 9+ years. For those who haven't seen one, it is a black jacket that has a great pic of Fatale done on the inside liner. I remember when Broadway was first launched. I used to be connected to a local comic store, & the owner would always send me to the Diamond warehouse sales & seminars which were held in my part of the country at the Diamond warehouse in Columbus Ohio. Shooter wasn't there for that particular seminar, but many from Broadway were. They all had these great jackets, & I've wanted one ever since. I picked up some great early promo stuff from them at the time. There was always alot going on at these seminars, with many publishers represented, & giant stacks of pizzas, & everything. Jeff Smith of Bone fame lived nearby, & made an appearance. It was around the time he got in with Image. He signed his first Image Bone book for me, & drew a cool pic of Bone on the cover as well. Ah, those were the days. I'll give a rundown of my Broadway promo stuff as soon as I can. Sometimes I can get lost in my vault, just looking through stuff. Yes, I've been a hoarder & saver for years. I even have my 1st postcard I got from Stan Lee, back in 1969. It will probably be in my top pocket when they bury me!---Steve G

I remember asking Jim about this about three months ago, said he could not recall at all how many of those satin jackets were made but at least a 100 or more (based upon recollection). I missed one of these babies on Ebay around the same time as my question and have not seen one since... crazy thing was, that it went for something like $10 !!! And I had to be 'in the field' or something like that training troops which made me miss it. Ahh the sacrifices I make.... Please dont think that I am on a super conversation basis with all of these folks. I primarily talk with JayJay, Jim and VanHook via email or an Instant Messenger. Don Perlin is the only one calls me every once in a while and I him... Don has been super to my family and we also have that 'fund raiser' connection. Next year we are going to put a combined effort into our Cystic Fibrosis and Tourettes fund raisers.

Thanks for the info, Knight! Ten dollars would have been an insanely great deal for one of these! I gave $50 plus shipping for mine, & would have given more. Like they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure! Being at the right place & the right time seems to be the key to life in general, IMO.

I'd love to see pictures. Frank

It's sweet... black satin on the outside, white satin on the inside with a line 'drawing' of Fatale on the inside back of the jacket.

Thanks for the interest & responses, guys! It's good to see David get a little more board traffic! I'd love to see the membership here grow, along with the interest in Defiant & Broadway. Although there was much left undone, both companies are highly underated for the stuff that did get produced. I'll be taking pics later today, & hope to have them on by this evening. Thanks for giving me the inspiration! I love to share this kind of stuff!---Steve G

I have to agree with Steve... now mind you, I have not read all of the books yet. Actually, I was wanting to get through all my Valiant titles first and THEN move on to Defiant and Broadway but my interests have shifted for the moment. I am currently reading Warriors of Plasm and am just loving it !!! There are many books that I have not read from either universe but from what I have seen so far..... amazing. Quantum Physics, Shooter has taken a hard to understand (for some of us... like me) and turned it into a comic book universe that is 'beyond the imaginary limits'. Again, his two companies/comic book lines were a victim of the times and I truly wish that there was more to read.
I have gotten a couple of screen treatments from Jim Shooter and would like to share them if the interest is there (sci fi stuff). I would need to get his approval first though as he has never said 'dont share them' but that doesnt mean share them either.

I shared everything I received already. I'm not exactly looking for anything for myself anymore. That includes the unpublished material or any of the promo collectibles. I would like to see what the jacket looks like, but I know I don't want one.... not for $1, not for $100. Defiant1

Pics will be on ther way shortly! On a similar note, Bob Layton is supposed to be sending me a screen treatment for an X-O Manowar movie that he had written for Acclaim. When I get it, & if I get his premission, I'd like to share it also!---Steve

The photo-host where I store my pics seems to have had a glitch overnight. The pics should all come back up OK. Here are the pics of the jacket. Sorry they're not the greatest pics, but I try! They are of the jacket, the pocket emblem, the stitching across the back, & two of Fatale in the liner. Hope you all enjoy them!---Steve I think Michael Browning ows the original art for that image used in the jacket. It's cool, jut not what I envisioned Defiant1

I spoke with JayJay about getting some painted Broadway art and she said that it doesnt exist as the work was digital for those issues.
Original art, pen/ink... I believe it is out there.

I'd love to own the page with the car stuck on the spire of the Chrysler Building. I'm from NYC originally, & I like seeing familar New York landmarks used in the stories.

Yes, that would be a choice piece to own... I love how those NYC landmarks are used.
But, I tell ya... I still give pause when an old comic used the World Trade Center in the background. (NOT to derail this thread)
I own three pieces of Valiant art and would LOVE to own a Defiant painted piece. The cover to Warriors of Plasm #3 would be great.... explosions and stuff.

There are only a few dynamic art pages in an entire book, Most of those have sold already and that means you get stuck sorting through leftovers. Without a connection to the story, they have little value to me. Defiant1

Some of the Avatars are about all the unpublished art you will get. Kim DeMulder and I were talking about the color art at Dragon Con. He said the Doc Martin colors are notorious for fading if exposed to light. All my color art pieces are bright and brilliant. I'm concerned now about ever displaying them. I guess they'll stay in the closet now which is a shame. Defiant1

UV protected glass... that should do the trick. An 11x14 piece of UV glass is around $14. Small price to pay for protecting your art.
