I like foreign comics. I think they are a much neglected portion of the hobby. I'd like to see more exposure. More checklists. More information in general. I was asked to write for a publication on foreign comics and I declined. I have a preliminary pdf of the first issue. That being said... I'm getting tired of foreign comic collectors dropping scans of foreign comics in every unrelated thread online. If the thread discusses Amazing Spider-Man #129, I don't want to see scans of the German equivalent tossed into the middle of the thread. It is not the same comic. In many cases they are reprints that came out at a much later date. To me, showing off a foreign comic is like showing off a Marvel Tales reprint of Amazing Fantasy #15 in a thread about Amazing Fantasy #15. I like it, but it's a different comic book. Defiant1

Defiant1 I can appreciate Foreign Comics. I've had a couple in my time. But I see them as unique novelties at best. While it's cool to have a Foreign Key, I'll agree it does not compare to the American Original. It seems like Foreign comics have gotten cool over the last 5 years or so and before that you hardly heard anyone talking about them. I think as you say that message boards can have a foreign comics section if it wants, which would be cool, and all people can talk and submit their pics over there. But yes, on serious American comic threads, I don't want to see the Foreign equivalent. It doesn't do anything for me.

They are still quite affordable, so some collectors see that as an opportunity to grab them early. Nothing wrong with that, but I don't like people acting like they are the only ones who thought of it. I've searched for a few before it was a new fad. Defiant1
