You posted your auction the same week that I exceeded my spending budget by $1,000.
I think you want more than it is worth to to me, but I could still make an offer in a few weeks if no one else does. That might be too late for your plans. I'm not confident that it would survive shipping even if we did come to an agreement on price.
Good luck with the auction either way.

Bidding will start at 200 w/ a buy it now of 300.if it doesnt go this time around, Its going back to the attic for another 10 years. You might consider contacting Michael Browning who posts on the comicspriceguide.com messageboard. I don't think he visits here much and I know he was trying to collect the more obscure comics. He might have interest in something like this also. It's a cool item, but I just don't have a place to put it. I'd also rather it be safe in your attic than smashed up at some UPS facility. One of my best friends always says there has to be 2 of something to be valuable. One held tightly in a collectors unrelenting grasp and another for sale so that a 2nd collector does have a shot at owning one. The first jab at asking a lot for this is "Hey, it must not be valuable to you.... you are willing to part with it." In all honesty, the first dollar amount that popped into my head was $30. I'd probably go $50 if I hadn't already wasted about $1000 on other unnecessary items. I'm seeing the band Garbage on 11/14 so I expect to spend about $60 on a couple of shirts that will come out of the closet more often. I'd like to own the board, just not for $100 & up. The demand for this is low and I think the amount bid was pretty fair. I'm glad it means more to you, but that won't get you cash for your trip. Defiant1

Here is a picture of the super rare board that had been offered... The picture was altered to skew it back into a straight on look rather than an angled perspective.

I agreed that I might give as much as $50 for this on a month when I hadn't bought a lot of other stuff and only then.

This thread doesn't really convey the back story. Here is what my old web site said: Display Board About 200 branded white display boards were created for retailers. The board (pictured below) featured the image from the cover of Powers That Be #1. The boards were made so comic shops could list the weekly comics for their customers. These boards arrived at the Broadway Comics offices just a few days before Broadway Comics closed. This would be an extremely rare find for a collector to acquire. The creators were not allowed to have any of these. Presumably the bulk of these are "rotting in some Golden Books warehouse in Wisconsin somewhere." 1 Only one board is known to have survived. It was offered for sale on ebay at a very steep price. It received no bids.
Information on this was originally provided by Pauline Weiss. Defiant1

I do recall someone telling me they'd downsized and closed their Wisconsin location. It may have been you.

I recently was able to get this board with Fatale on it...I need to take a picture but the thing is huge! I was expecting it to be the size of a small poster or a refrigerator freezer door but it's really 4 feet long and about the size of half a door. I still have it in the shipping box and leaned against a wall here.

These reportedly never made it to any comic shops and were believed to be destroyed when a warehouse was shut down. I don't really have a use for such an item. My focus is mainly on comics. Sometimes I stray into buying art. Cards, toys, and related accessories don't really appeal to me. I hope you didn't pay too much. Defiant1

Defiant1 I got it for under 55 with half of that going towards the shipping. I was here when the mail lady knocked on my door and asked me to take it out of her truck which i'm glad she did because she's been stuffing my packages in my mailbox. I opened the box and I was surprised at how big the thing it...like the size of a black board or larger than a small coffee table. I don;t think an easel can hold it because it's a bit heavy too. My first thought was "where am i going to put this?" It's in 2 pieces...the outside is a gray sturdy plastic base holder and the white board slides in the center. It's a cool looking piece but large. I've been meaning to take a picture of it...I just need to lay it down and take an overhead pic of it. I'll put a comic on top to give an idea of the scale.

So it's made of some sort of plastic?

So it's made of some sort of plastic? I think it's tempered hardboard with a side made white for erasable markers. Defiant1

Here's a pic of the front: 2 comics placed next to Fatale to give it scale: The inside has white double sided tape in several spots to hold the board in place. But it's never been used so it looks like the tape lost the stickyness since the board wasn't really glued to it when opening the box: The back of the board... I just realized by flipping the box that it's the original shipping box of the board: The biggest surprise I didn't notice at first was that this had a bagged marker with instructions and what looks like a few stickers: The instructions inside the bag show how to hang the board by the holes in the upper back part of the board:

If that's plastic, I don't really like it. The bag of accessories is neat. You never said where you got it!

I've been slow in posting the rest of the pics. I went ahead and opened the plastic bag with the stickers: Starseed Sticker: Knights On Broadway: It also had these 3 extra stickers to place around the board...I thought they were magnets but they're stickers: I still need to take a pic of the instructions page..

This is one of those things that I look at and it makes me ask...
Was this a wise use of company money when sales were struggling?
I know this would have made a big presence in a comic shop, but would it have increased sales enough?

I got it from regular ebay. I asked the seller if he had any back story to this but he didn't say much of anything about it. I asked before if it came with a marker and he said no and then I found the sealed bag inside so I think he was a former comic shop owner and this was something he never opened or used and that it was probably collecting dust in a back room. I gotta take one more pic of a page here...
