Any opinions or comments on Blackthorne? I went through their books listed at the mycomicshop site yesterday, and there's definitely some stuff I'm interested in. Beyond Mars and Enchanted Valley come to mind, but there are others.

Any opinions or comments on Blackthorne? I went through their books listed at the mycomicshop site yesterday, and there's definitely some stuff I'm interested in. Beyond Mars and Enchanted Valley come to mind, but there are others. Blackthorne was Steve Schanes attempt to reenter the publishing field. I don't own anything they published as far as I know. I've never been really interested in anything they published. Steve Schanes worked at Broadway Comics as an editor. His brother Bill Schanes who co-founded Pacific Comics with him went on to work for Steve Geppi at Diamond. I'm pretty sure that Bill Schanes is responsible for Diamond purging all of the lesser performing indy comics a few years back at Diamond. It was probably a very tough decision they had to make to keep Diamond afloat financially. Steve Schanes published some Ripley's Believe it or Not! comics in 1993. Those interest me more than anything Blackthorne published. Overall I'm pretty much indifferent to their product. Defiant1

I'd forgotten Blackthorne was Steve Schanes' company.

I'd forgotten Blackthorne was Steve Schanes' company. They are most remembered for their 3D comics. Defiant1
