I'm new to this board, but have been sharing info by e-mail with Defiant1 for a while now. I'm happy to be here, & look forward to having interesting discussions about all things Valiant. I am also a fan of Defiant & Broadway. While I am missing some of the Valiant Nintendo comics, I do have 100% complete collections of Valiant V1 & V2, along with complete collections of Defiant & Broadway (with the exception of the signed Fatale TPB). The majority of these issues were bought new when they 1st came out. I have extras of many issues available for trades, which I will later make a posting of in the proper catagories. I also collect everything related to the various comic companies, such as promotional items, posters, etc. Some of you might already know me from the another board. Glad to see you all here! Thanks for the invite, Dave! I appreciate your friendship!

The X-O statue has shown his face I see... Defiant1 P.S. I just posted this and the avatar I'm using made me laugh. I amuse myself sometimes... here is the one I'm talking about (in case I change it again)..

Welcome to the boards... I look forward to your insight not only into Valiant comics but the Defiant and Broadway universe as well. There are a few items I am looking for to work on my collection that Defiant 1 and CorvetteJim have gotten me into... albiet it took me a while to get into, I am very happy with the chance to explore two other universes that Jim Shooter has created. Yes, I do know you from another board and hope that you stay here is a pleasant one. Defiant 1 has been a great friend in the past and I cannot tell you how appreciative I am that these message boards remain intact.

You know I never did anything on the VC boards any worse than you, Zephyr, or X-O, & I wish we could get beyond the negative crap, & have some fun discussing these great comics again. I hope your daughter is doing fine. My wife & I continue to keep her in our prayers. You are a good man for everything you've done & continue to do. You don't have to like me, but can't we please call a truce on the negative stuff? Please? ---Steve G

I know for sure the Home for the Holidays TPB (I just missed one on Ebay for a buck, dammit)... the b/w Broadway previews... I will have to check and get back to ya.
For sure though, I am needing quite a few of the Defiant cards (even after CorvetteJim squared me away BIG TIME)... were you keen on those ?

I may have an extra Home For The Holidays. I know I have a signed one they offered. I got into the cards big time, & bought a case of both Plasm & Dark Dominion cards when they came out. I still have the original case boxes! I got a 6 binder case of the 1st edition Plasm binders when they came out. I traded a couple back in the day, but still kept most. I bought another unopened cade of 1st edition binders off ebay back in 1998, & still have it unopened. I also had bought a case of Dark Dominion binders, & was looking forward to the Defiant Universe & Good Guys cards when they were cancelled. I also ordered the back covers for the binders. They are hard to find now. I even got the Dark Dominion 'Mule' tins, even though the cards weren't printed, & they are just empty tins! Anyway, I'm sure I can help with some cards, but I'm not giving up on my signed Shooter card that I got out of my case. Thanks for corresponding with me. I appreciate it, & promise you it's not some sly Vault Keeper trick.---Steve

Thats funny you should mention the signed Shooter cards. I have pulled TWO out of single boxes since they came out. The first I pulled when the Plasm cards were brand new and the other was about three weeks ago after I bought five boxes off Ebay for cheap. Crazy thing is... I pulled the SAME Shooter signed card (twice)... it was the #5 Hooky and Clipper card. The first card that I pulled I lost in 'the divorce' and the second card I recently gave to CorvetteJim as I knew he was trying to get all the possible signed cards. So, I am signed Shooter cardless as of the moment but I firmly believe in what goes around, comes around and that there is a cosmic comic karma out there. Which is balance as far as I am concerned because Jim brought me a whole bunch of stuff as well as when I visited him in PHX he sent me on my way with even more stuff... (I think he was planting the Defiant seed, if you ask me ) I will look over what I have today and get back with you as to what I need... not too many cards, if you can believe that seeing as how I started oh about a month ago into the Defiant cards. THANKS for offering to help out... I appreciate it.

I picked up two unopened Plasm boxes a few years ago. (I had opened the entire case I bought back when they came out.) You make me want to open my two boxes now to see if Jim is hiding in one of them! I think my signed card is a #1, which I believe CorvetteJim needs, but... I wonder if all of Jim's cards are the actual box signatures or not. The 'real' box signed ones have the signature signed underneath the UV coating, so on close examination, you can see where the signature lies. The secret with the Plasm cards is that whoever is on the box cover corresponds with where the special cards are located in the packs. Like if Lorca is on the box, all the special cards are in packs with Lorca on them. I also have an unopened 10 box case of Valiant Era 1 cards, 4 unopened boxes of Unity cards, an unopened box of Valiant Era 2, plus unopened Plasm & Splatter Bowl tins. Oh, & an unopened box of Silver Surfer prism cards. As a card collector, I have probably 50.000 to 75,000+ cards, including 1950's baseball, but nearly 99% are non-sport. No way have I ever counted... The rarest Defiant stuff I have is when they cancelled the Defiant Universe set. Any store that had pre-ordered a box got a letter sent out by Shooter, explaining his problems with The River Group (who produced the cards). Along with the letter were 3 rare promo cards from the Defiant Universe set & an autographed copy of Dark Dominion #1. I had pre-ordered boxes at two different comic shops (they were both my friends so I patronized both their stores). Needless to say each shop received this 'gift' promo & passed it on to me, since I was the only one to order the boxes. I still have both in their original envelopes, etc. It was gestures like this that make me respect Shooter so much. He truly cared for the fans.---Steve G

The package did include the comic. I found mine about a year after starting my site. Obviously Shooter was involved with signing and releasing the comic, but that letter looks like finger-pointing. I doubt Shooter had anything to do with the words on the letter. Defiant1

That's great! What issues do you still need from Defiant or Broadway? I'd be glad to help if I can.---Steve I have all three editions of the binder now and would like to complete all three binders with the appropriate cards sets. I have my 1st edition binder complete except for the following: One Shooter signed card (I just HAD to give mine to Jim) Embossed card #2 (Lorca and his Lust Mate) level two chase card As well, I need two Plasm binder back art. Level one chase cards: #3, #4, #5 (all times three), #,6, #7, and #8 (all times one) All level two chase cards to fill two Plasm binders. Plasm limited edition tin Dark Dominion binder I need: quantum view lens cards: #2 (Central Park) and #7 (the Shanty) level two chase cards: #2 (Michael and Wardancer) and #4 (Heroes from Earth - Principals of Plasm) I need one Dark Dominion back art as well. A mule tin (even though it does not have any cards, the tin is probably the best I have seen in years) I would love to have a #1 and #2 Prudence and Caution in Spanish. I have #1 coming to me from Man of the Atom on the Valiant boards, but he said it was 'water damaged'. A Home for the Holidays TPB A Defiant Genesis issue without the ComicFest '93 Philadelphia logo The Good Guys 1.5 (honestly, I dont even know what that is) A Birth of the Defiant Universe (man, that velum cover is just awesome) The Great Grimmax (mine has $1.50 written in marker on it but would like to have a better copy) Here is what I have gathered that I would like to gather for my collection. I know that there must be more (didnt even mention Broadway comics). I am going to repost this to the Defiant section to be more 'site friendly'. defiant1.proboards27.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1101693289
