I received a phone call today that I was overdue on paying my rent on a storage unit. I've had this storage unit for about 20 years and it's basically just been out of sight and out of mind. I was so annoyed that I was not given adequate notice that I've decided to pull all the contents back into my home and discontinue it's use. Well, the first load of items brings back a lot of memories. So far I've uncovered the Premiere issues of some magazines including Discover magazine. I've uncovered some old Omni magazines and Scientific American magazines. I located a bunch of missing CBG's from 1992 to 1996. I've uncovered more retailer packs, malibu promo packs with press releases etc. I discovered a Deatwatch 2000 poster. A Chaos effect promo poster. Basically there was a wide range of my missing stuff and quite a bit is site related.
In the stuff was my Uncles old vietnam helmet with a peace sign painted on the top with yellow flourescent paint. 20 years ago I thought that was tacky, now I see it as a historical legacy of the 60's & 70's. I actually wish the yellow paint wasn't chipped in places. Yep. In this stuff was my old Treasury edition comics that i bought off of the magazine racks. I've even located my missing StoryTeller issues which were boxed up with my treasury Comics.
I'm very tempted to get with board member Treadstone and coax him into letting me scan his near complete collection of Treasury Edition comics.
This stuff may start showing as I'm sorting and collating the contents. I also found a handheld electronic Battlestar Galactica game from 1978. I found an electronic Othello game from the late 70's. Yep, as I move this stuff back into my home, anything I find interesting is likely to show up here.
