Well, in the world of Quantum Physics anything is possible.... right? Let's imagine that a theatrical movie about Quantum Physics exists. Let's say they talk about learning Quantum Physics from comic books and the even show characters walking around and glowing in a similar manner as the characters did in the Defiant Comics' Dark Dominion series. Is that too difficult to imagine? If it is, just go see the movie.... www.whatthebleep.com/The link above is the movie's web site. Below are some images I snagged from their site: Here is a picture of the single female lead star in the movie watching a different quantum incarnation of herself walk away happily in the arms of a man. Notice the glow from her other quantum incarnation. This kid is pretty smart and he explains quantum physics to the unhappy woman. Where did he learn about quantum physics? From comic books... of course! Here is a better picture of the lady stepping outside of her world, into the kid's world of quantum physics and simultaneous possibilities. Here 'we' see the simultaneous possibilities of matter that exist because she is not observing. As soon as she observes, the basketball is only bouncing in one spot. While this movie does have a story and a message, it could better be described as a documentary. When I read about the movie on www.cnn.com's web page, I went out of my way to find the one and only theater in Atlanta showing it. This is an exceptional movie and anyone who wants to learn about the power of choice should consider going to see it. Defiant1

Jim Shooter wrote quite a few stories that dealt with the possibilities opened up by Quantum theory. He's very scientific. If things had only been slightly different in his life he'd have been a scientist (as he planned in high school) and probably never had anything more to do with comics. (Maybe in another universe there's a Jim Shooter biologist) But I think even as early as the Korvak saga, that he wrote at Marvel in the Avengers, he was dealing with the ability of a person's perception to affect reality and their influence being governed by their strength of will or the limits of their imagination. It's a rich subject for a sci-fi writer but I'm not sure how familiar the public at large is with physics theory. Solar at Valiant was able to affect all matter in the universe by thought, and losing control of his thoughts destroyed the universe. Jim's got quite a bit of really incredible stories (screenplays, comics, etc) that have not yet seen the light of day, that deal heavily with quantum physics and especially Scrodinger's theories. Jim even understands Scrodinger's equation. As a non-scientific, artist type this amazes me. What the heck is that? That's one thing I miss about working with Jim. I learned a lot about science. That was cool. JayJay

I had a strong fascination with particle physics research. Before reality struck in, that's what I wanted to do with my life. I remember being fascinated with the discovery of the first anti-matter particle. Unfortunately, the math is beyond my ability because we didn't have teachers smart enough to teach it where I went to school. I didn't really know that much about Quantum Physics until I saw a PBS special on String Theory. It rekindled my interest in the topic of physics. Here is a picture from the past... Defiant1

You know the crazy thing is people have been telling me about this forever, i ve been waiting to see it cant wait for the dvd... the thing is ,having not seen the movie, i think my life went in a similar direction because of Dark Dominion...really. There was some really heady stuff for a 14 yr old kid to be introduced to. It put a seed in me to expand my research into all things metaphysical in nature. Chasing after those ideas lead me to authors like..huxley,orwell,McKenna,kesey,ouspensky,steiner..etc I can honestly say the root of the exploration of those ideas, were springboarded by Dark Dominion. From a comic book perspective he was a man who gained his powers from getting over fear...awesome. I would make a sure bet that Dark Dominion inspired that movie...god, i wonder what Jim Shooter thinks about that? I bet he was pretty upset when Defiant went under and wondered why it happened, im sure he got over it though, but what if the whole reason Defiant existed was to put the seed in the minds of the people who made that movie, just so that movie could be seen be people who havent been exposed to those kinds of ideas yet,and it helps us as a species ascend to a higher conciousness? How cool is that?

How cool is that? I was following some of the new links from that site. On one of the pages it shows a cube we've all seen before. It says this: "See a cube? Or do you see something else? If you see a cube, then which face is in front? Does the cube quantum jump?" This question drills home a reality that people ignore. The limitations of our perceptions affect and even hinder how we respond to our environment. Our bodies only detect certain wavelenths of light. Even then we make assumptions based upon what we see. How would we respond if we could see a larger spectrum? We think bees are attracted to flowers because of the pretty colors. Yet in reality there is evidence to support that they are attracted to the colors we can't even see. There are sound frequencies just outside of our ability to hear. Elephants listen to sound waves out of our hearing range and rely upon it heavily. One thing that struck me in the movie was a person taking about "The power of positive thinking" and "why doesn't it work". He says inside we really don't believe it. He says we conciously say to ourselves "I'm going to think positive", but inside were going back and still thinking negatively. The stuff I read today says that fear is basically built into us. We inherited genetic programming that educated us to be fearful of hot objects. We know to either run or fight when adrenaline kicks in. Overcoming the things our species has been conditioned with over time is not as easy as just "thinking in a positive way" It is some pretty heavy stuff. Defiant1

The DVD for this movie was released March 15th. You can now buy it in stores. www.bleepstore.com/movies.html"The protagonist, Amanda, played by Academy Award-Winning actress Marlee Matlin, finds herself in a fantastic Alice in Wonderland experience when her daily, uninspired life literally begins to unravel, revealing the uncertain world of the quantum field hidden behind what we consider to be our normal, waking reality. She is literally plunged into a swirl of chaotic occurrences, while the characters she encounters on this odyssey reveal the deeper, hidden knowledge she doesn’t even realize she has asked for. Like every hero, Amanda is thrown into crisis, questioning the fundamental premises of her life–that the reality she has believed in about how men are, how relationships with others should be, and how her emotions are affecting her work isn’t reality at all!" A sequel to this movie came out awhile back. A 3-set DVD of the sequel is now available. What the Bleep?!: Down the Rabbit Hole www.whatthebleep.com/rabbithole/The first disc features a lot of the same content from original movie but it explores the science at a much deeper level. I consider it very thought provoking. One interesting implication is that we are all connected and our thoughts are like waves manifesting outside of us just as they do inside us. It would scientifically explain psychic connections and a lot of things we deem supernatural. Cool movie, but I had to stop watching for a rest. Gotta go create waves.... Defiant1
