After THAT yesterday, you can call me whatever.... for uh about 24 hours, ok ? LOL
Oh, BTW... price for the tin: in the $30s range. Last time I saw one on Ebay it was $49, so I got a pretty good deal.

my binder arrived in the mail today, very quick shipping! I really like the look of the third edition binder, I might as well now go out and get a second edition binder so I can say I have one of each.
I think the seller has another one of these up still with the $9.99 BIN, but if you're looking for a 100% sealed one, you might not want to buy because the outer plastic had a good sized rip in it. No big deal if you're planning to open it, I guess.

No big deal if you're planning to open it, I guess. I don't have an ebay account of my own. I'll make pdf's of some auction pages and I'll sometimes search to appease my curiosity, but for the most part ebay might as well not exist. I'd want one binder open and one sealed. That's how I am. I've already decided to pass on this. I made the dealer an offer. That was his one shot. I don't screw around with the negotiation process just to have them come back to my first offer. My first offer is usually my best offer if I want something and it goes down if they don't respond to my offer in a timely manner. I don't reward a seller for tempting my patience. I don't reward them for shopping things around and leaving me with second dibs. Either he wanted the sale or he didn't. His opportunity with me is pretty much gone. Maybe in 6 months I'll get the whim to make another offer to someone else. If not, I'll go without it. These binder would be absolutely worthless if I hadn't advertised the news about them over the past year. I'd be an idiot to push the prices up and then go out gleefully and pay top dollar. I try to be fair to people, but playing tough on prices with me is a backwards move. He'd do better to hold out and sell it for more to someone else. DEFIANT1

BOO YAA... my 15 seconds of fame. That page already existed. I did add a reference to your ebay purchase, but those scans aren't the ones you posted. Defiant1

I am meaning my Ebay purchase is listed. How in the hell would someone know if they were my scans ? They look different but then again... I get paid decently to spot the little things. That is my occupation. If that page is your 15 minutes of fame, then this messageboard must be your century of fame....Greg's messageboard an eternity of fame and this thread must be your month. I'm just trying to put things in proportion. Defiant1

I can't remember where Knightt first heard about that 3rd edition binder ... I started talking about it as soon as I created the Warriors of Plasm section of my site. One by one I informed a few others through email discussions. Eventually an auction popped up on ebay for an opened & filled 3rd edition binder. At that time I borrowed the scans from ebay and again contacted anyone with a web presence to offer them my evidence. Knightt started talking about it after I directed him to CorvetteJim. That's all the backstory I have. Defiant1

What I meant to say was "I can't remember where Knightt heard about that 3rd ed binder that dude was selling on ebay last month." Ahem. I assumed it was an Ebay Search. BTW, I rarely use Ebay. Mail order is too much of a hassle. I tried to convey to someone else that my spare time means more to me than the cost of some of these products. Whether I want an item or not, there has to be a certain dollar value or rarity factor involved before I'll waste 30 minutes at the post office or waste thirty minutes boxing something up to mail out. If I sell a $20-$30 item on ebay, I break even on money and lose the time doing something I don't like to do. I can sit at work for an hour and make more money than I would off of a $30 comic sale. If I have to deal with a return, the same thing goes... I'm throwing about $30 and a half hour away F'ing with the whole process. This attitude is something my job requires. If I reject a part for quality reasons at my job, I immediately cost the company $100 in paperwork and processing. I factor all of that in ahead of time because it's too late afterwards. Surely anyone in the military knows that everything has a dollar value. My friend the Navy Test Pilot was told exactly how much he was worth to the Navy after he went through his first flight training. But anyway, I drifted because this topic always arises when a mail order negotiation is in process. I had a friend ask me how much they could pay me to help them move once. I said "you can't pay me". They looked distraught, they said "we really need your help". I said "okay, I'll help". They said "how much will you charge?". I said "My services aren't for sale!" I said "I will help you for free because I hate having to move and I don't wish that on anyone." No amount of money can ever be enough to compensate me for the moving process because I detest it so much. I ended up keeping some stuff they were throwing away. XO lithographs and odd stuff. Promotional packs etc. That eased their concience but I'd rather have not helped. Defiant1

I can't remember where Knightt first heard about that 3rd edition binder ... I had never heard of ANY 3rd edition binder until depluto linked me to one and I snatched it out from under him within seconds !!! "hey knightt, what do you think of this ?"... "I think, I'll take it (insert BIN)." "oh btw, did you need one ?" OOPS... LOL So I owe it ALL to depluto... CorvetteJim may have touched upon it during my visit with him, but to be sure I was overwhelmed by his collection to have any coherent thought in those moments and besides, all the collectibles that I saw that day did not have any relevance to me until AFTER my visit. It was my visit with CorvetteJim (David asked me to go up there - 3+ hour drive - and get a few images of Jim's collection, so I contacted Jim got him started on scanning stuff and when I got there, I took photos of his collection and then went through the process of putting these all on disc) that got me MORE into the Defiant realm of collecting. I had also read more about it on the following website... ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/allender/plasm0.htmTHANKS DEPLUTO !!!

Well, I didn't think you would pounce on it as quickly as you did, since you've spent so much time cultivating the image of a miser, but I knew that was the sort of thing you were into,
Good thing the guy had a pile of them. Several people here on the boards picked one up, right?

Good thing the guy had a pile of them. Several people here on the boards picked one up, right? I got one after Chris started bragging about his. I emailed the guy and he put one up for me to BIN. I guess it was then that he figured there was something to it and upped the BIN by $1. Mine had the same problem as everyone elses in that plastic was already torn. Since everyone reports that problem it make me wonder if maybe there was something else in the package. It would have had to be something very small and easily removeable as I don't think the binder or the box could have been removed. Maybe some loose promos or something.

I don't recall the plastic being torn on mine, although it was pretty raggy packaging. And if it was torn, I had it off in about five seconds anyway.
Those things look like they had been stored in a shed for the last 10 years.

I got one after Chris started bragging about his. I brag ? I will have to stop that and just resort to a more definitive 'informational post'. When I got my binder in, it WAS open to a degree but the plastic was minutely torn so that IF there was anything in it.. it would have to be small. Cards would make it through but nothing else. But, I really dont think that anything was taken out. Just poor handling of the binder and YES, looks like these things were stored in a shed down in Georgia (humidity). Still... I am thrilled to have one, and if my bragging about it brought anyone to theirs... well.... I GOT MY PLASM 3RD EDITION BINDER... NANA... NANA... NA-NA...

I am thrilled to have one, and if my bragging about it brought anyone to theirs... well.... I GOT MY PLASM 3RD EDITION BINDER... NANA... NANA... NA-NA... Time out. I have nothing to contribute to this thread because I have nothing relevant to say. I (as in me)... created this site to provide information. That is the reason I wanted it here and that is what I typically try to post. On the other hand I created the messageboard as a place for anyone to talk about anything they like. You are not me so I assure you that you can post whatever you like. I don't like to participate in every conversation. I like to keep other people's names on the board as having been the last person to post. I'd rather people come here to see everyone else's opinion, not mine. Unfortunately, If I remove my posts, that leaves a lot of conversations dying flat. I've also recieved a few emails from people trying to hard sell me things when I post on threads like this. There is no need for you to feel that my comments about "being informative" have anything to do with you. They are entirely made to convey my purpose. As far as people bragging... one of my friends sent me a picture of a Superman #14 he'd picked up in Fine or better. It's probably worth at least $5,000. More than I'd spend. He doesn't bother with the "Nah. Nah Nah's". He is the king of bragging and I like to see people brag. He buys the cool stuff and I get to see it without spending a dime. For every one single collectible like this Plasm Binder I'd like to own, there are a million other collectibles that I'd also like to own. My eyes never get full. The more things they see, the more things they want. My mouth and brain on the otherhand is quite capable of saying no even when my wallet is still capable of saying yes. Defiant1

That sucks. Clearly there is something negative associated with "informational post" that I, as a newbie, am not familiar with. Someone please fill me in.

I dont have any idea of what the huff is now about (even if there IS any huff)... I included a smiley face which is a definate tone setter. Rob says I 'brag'... I say 'I BRAG ? '... meaning my shock and awe at being called a bragger... all in fun.

That sucks. Clearly there is something negative associated with "informational post" that I, as a newbie, am not familiar with. Someone please fill me in. Well, I don't define the scope of things I say, so others will make false assumptions based on their point of view. I like to see what assumptions people make before I explain anything. It's far more informative than asking a questions can reveal. Defiant1
