Just mailed off payment for 3 pages of EC original artwork from 1947. After shipping charges it comes to $92 per page. Obviously these predate the classic work for which EC is well known. Regardless, I think that's not a bad price just to own some original art from the company.

Q Wow, that's impressive, I would have to think almost any art page from the 1940's would be worth at least that much, much less a popular company like EC. Good deal!

Q Wow, that's impressive, I would have to think almost any art page from the 1940's would be worth at least that much, much less a popular company like EC. Good deal! Unless you dug down and read the block of text at the bottom, it looked like the auction was for one page of art. The text however said it was for three pages. It's not stuff an art dealer could turn easily if he paid the final auction price for just 1 page. I expected to get sniped. I was the only bidder up to 5 hours before closing. I was hoping to get them for $50 a page. I'm not an art collector, so I'm not a big spender. Most of my inked Defiant art was picked up for $5-$15 a page. I paid $35 - $40 for the J.G. Jones stuff and I wasn't real pleased with what I got so any price is too much in my opinion. The most I've paid for anything was a discounted Olivia Watercolor sketch, It was priced $500, but I didn't pay that. Q

This artwork is HUGE!! Picture Stories From World History Page 9 Artist: Harley M. Griffiths Getting this image involved piecing together about ten partial scans. The color shade differences and any blurry spots are because it was too big for my scanner and couldn't sit flat. I do not plan on scanning the other two pages, it was too much work. Defiant1

Okay, I got ambitious and scanned the 2nd page of three I bought last year. I was able to piece together 4 scans instead of 10. Defiant1
