Very nice pick up. Just out of curiosity what kind of prices do original Defiant pages/cover go for?

Very nice pick up. Just out of curiosity what kind of prices do original Defiant pages/cover go for? Well....! The covers will go for more if I'm involved with the buying and much lower if I'm not. I like a nice color art piece better than a pen & ink piece. Janet's stuff goes in the $15-$60 dollar range normally on ebay. If I want something specifically, I'll start my bidding at $50. I've offerred as much as $200 for one piece, but it had sentimental meaning for her and she wouldn't sell it. The pieces I picked up today were from a friend. I now own the covers to GG#'s 1-5. I don't bid on ebay stuff much anymore. I feel as though Janet knows my money is good and that if she offers it elsewhere that she'll probably get less. There is one specific a-hole that got a cover for half of what I would have paid. That was enough to make me quit looking for any more color pieces at all. I detest that MF so much that I don't even like hearing his name in the same sentence as mine. Basically, if I'm not bidding, you can get a good deal. Defiant1

Wow! Anybody I know (of)? Yeah, you know of him. He doesn't post here and he posts a lot at vf.com. He lives out Knights way. He posted a whole thread once whining about losing an auction. Accused the winner of sniping. Badmouthed the person.... me. I showed pity on his sorry @$$ and gave the SOB a consolation prize which was 100% at my expense. It's the equivalent of handing someone $40-$50. Later the little calico b*****d bragged about using a sniping service and advocated that everyone should use it. He never once apologized for the lies he said about me. He also showed his true color and voted for me to be banned from vc.com messageboard. Basically he is one of the handful at VF.com that I'd graciously invite to go f*** themselves. Defiant1

I know exactly who you're talking about. 'Nuff said... That's one (1) of the reasons I thought you'd make an excellent choice as a moderator. Defiant1

I just wish I had more time to post more here. I do think it's great that the membership is growing. I enjoy seeing more people post here. The atmosphere here is quite different than the Vc board, in a good way.---Steve

The atmosphere here is quite different than the Vc board, in a good way.---Steve Every comic book store I ever liked to attend had a sincere social atmosphere like "Cheers"... the bar on TV. If I was to ever start a comic book store it would be almost like walking into a bar. There would be bar stools to sit on when you wanted to look through your stack of new comics. Display cases in front of you so you could sit and point at the comics in the case. A clerk would be behind the display cases dispensing comics like a bartender would dispense drinks. I'd want wooden floors and maybe antiques toys and memorabilia hanging from the ceiling. First and foremost I let people talk about what they want as long as they are not soliciting something to me specifically. The only reason I censor professional grading is because I consider it to be spam. Other than that, just about anything goes. Defiant1
