I know the quality of the DVD recording is rough, but any reviews of the content discussed? I'm going to go back and re-watch it in a few minutes as there was a lot of noise going on around my house when I first started watching. I didn't really start catching everything that was said until they were plotting out the story for Charlemagne. I DO understand now why Charlemagne was the most powerful character in the Defiant Universe, he had the ability to duplicate anyone's power. They didn't specifically say how that worked. Did he have to make physical contact with the power wielder, just be within a certain range, or just think of that person? I still have to read the books, I have Charlemagne #0 and 1. I liked watching Adam Pollina sketch, his work looks real good. I couldn't see what the heck Lapham was drawing, might have been a quality issue of the tape in addition to it looking like a light pencil sketch. It was cool that the settings of the book were actual places in NYC, I still have to re-watch that section. It was very cool to watch Shooter work, he really seems to see the comic page in his mind when he's doing his plotting sessions. I'm looking forward to watching it again. It has inspired me to get the rest of the books I'm missing. I've got comic shows to attend the first two Sundays of February, if I can't land them cheap there, I'll either have to deal with Mile High or see if someone here can sell me the books at a good price.

Haven't seen the video yet. Basically he just had to see something to do it (stated it in the last issue of Charlemage). Charle's power (like many Defiant characters) seemed to be based on his mind. If he thought he could something or wanted to do it, he could. Ofcourse the whole universe was sorta based on that principle... Can't wait to watch it...

I as well... liked to see the formative process. I was a bit surprised at the condition of the offices. I guess I was expecting a bit more but seeing as how they were just forming the comic line they were using what they had available. Cramped and noisy if you ask me.
Reading further into the Charlemagne comics I would not have guess that he would be able to mimic others powers and I would say that again, it is the power of the mind that enabled him to do this. Nothing to do with proximity or touch but the 'power of imagination' and dreams.
You can tell that Shooter was very psyched about his new universe (no pun inteneded). I would really like to have seen just where he would have went if given the time to take his dreams to where he wanted them to go. The possibilities are endless and with his ability to create good solid continuity... well, it is just a shame that it didnt get that far. But what there IS.... man, exciting stuff.
What the hell did he call the M&Ms again ? Proton power pills or something corny like that ?

Wow The DVD was awesome. Thanks Defiant1. Comments: I was surprised a decade ago when I read they showed the "real life" Bowels in the video. I was suprised today when the Bowels turn out to be a narrow underground tunnel with pipes in it . Guess even Shooter takes artistic licenses on real places sometimes. The Charlemagne #1 plotting session rocked. I see now why the issue "felt" like it had so-much Shooter influence in it and why so many Defiant issues have four or five names under their "plotted by" credit. It was nice that everyone involved in the issues from editors to arists got to help plot them (it was the type of group enviroment that I would expect out of Shooter's companies). Also nice to see the plotting of the action scene at the issue's end (one of favorite fight scenes of all time). I was surprised that it gave away the spoilers for Schism about Chasm becoming an evil god and Charlemagne being able to learn other people's powers. Interesting that even though it's clearly stated in the last issue of Charlemagne, that I never really thought about the full extent of Charles "learning" any power he sees. It explains why War Dancer picked Charles in the first place and told him Charles during one fight that if he does kill Dancer, he must take his place and destroy the world. Ofcourse in Plasm 13 we see Charles battling the serpent with the powers of War Dancer so that did come to pass in a way (War Dancer and the world lived ofcourse). Amazing the things you realize years later.

The DVD's were printed with an Epson R300 inkjet printer. Epson provides higher resolution printing than most other brands. It has a flipdown tray and holder for printing directly on the printable CD's. That was why I bought it. The only drawback of Epson is that you aren't changing the print heads with the ink cartridge. You do with an HP printer. There is a new lightscribe type of disc. If you own the right kind of burner you can burn a disc and then flip it over and have the laser scribe a picture and text layout on the other side. I don't care for the paper labels anf I've read that paper labels can make some discs unplayable. Defiant1

many things i noticed.. first of all "the lorca statue" wonder where that is today.. for about one second they show some books on a shelf..one of them being "quantum healing" by deepak chopra, what else is there "the next marvel" shooter always had high expectations the music was funny very '1993' mentions his 'other company' though not by name, ans Solar though it seems hesitantly. i wish it had more time with david Lapham, i coulndt make out what he was sketching. The DD part was way cool. Also thought it was funny that both charlamagne and war dancer were both the most powerful charater in the DU. It was just way cool to see, thanks Defiant1 ! They were really on to something and if there had been no hurdles, it would have been great. I just dont see where all the money went, there offices seemed very modest. The DVD itself looked great awesome professional packiging. Send one to Jim and the funny thing is i stopped by my PO box and right after i bought the Alien vs Predator dvd, so i had two dvds to watch, the funny thing is I watched the defiant one and then AVP and at the end of AVP, *spoiler warning* the predator strips off the skull of the alien to give to the chick, to use as some sort of shield since the acidic alien blood doesnt burn it. She puts the skullof the alien on her arm and it looks almost exactly like the bio-weapons in WoP!! Its cool, see for yourself! It was weird to me to watch the defiant dvd and the a totally random movie that in my mind had a Defiant reference at the end.

The DVD itself looked great awesome professional packiging. Send one to Jim I saved a few for any creators that ask. I actually have another Defiant video I got by accident... but it's about a competitor... not them. It's more of a "keeping up with the Jones' type video". AVP was a sleeper and a comedy right? I was so bored that I did my best to sleep through the beginning. By the time the end rolled around I was laughing my butt off. The girl is running around in a tank top on the Ross Ice Shelf of Antarctica. The town looks to be a snow covered western set with a water tower of all things. I wonder how well the water tower worked at subzero temperatures. Brilliant movie making. .... A tank top... my God! Defiant1

yeah the movie was a big let down...but did you see what imean by the alien skull? The movie had only a 30$ million dollar budget..you get what you pay for i guess, horrible movie making, though the predators were done well. I thought Resident Evil was better and it was written &directed by the same guy

I thought Resident Evil was better and it was written &directed by the same guy I remember something about a skull, but I was so bored I was trying to get caught up on sleep by that point. The last Resident Evil wasn't bad. That's amazing for me to say because I don't care for the horror genre so much. Defiant1

I feel guilty about not having watched yet ... it will be at least a week before I even turn my TV on again. This is my big week at work. (I don't know what that emoticon means, just thought this was a good place for it)
