I totally dig covers like this. A real lost art.
I never purchased any of the EC reprints, but over time they are becoming more and more attractive to me. Getting the originals are so hard to come by as well as enough time has gone by since the reprints. I used to frown on them because they were reprints. But now they seem highly desirable and collectible to me.

But now they seem highly desirable and collectible to me. I bought these to read them. At the time, if I thought something was going to have resale value, I bought 3 copies of a comic. I only bought one of these. The stories and art are excellent. There is no shortage of words in an EC comic. It's a far cry from comics you buy new today. I've always felt they should take the text stories from the EC comics and turn those into comic stories with modern artists. Of course it would need to be someone who can draw in the old EC style. defiant1

Weird Science #1 CPG lists these as Gemstone. Not sure why. Defiant1

Here is where the confusion stems with Russ Cochran reprints. This is a double sized issue of Tales from the Crypt #4. It came out in February of 1992. This #2 (below) is a regular sized comic that came out in December of 1992. Gladstone was printing double sized issues in 1991. The stories were mixed and matched reprints from the 50's. They did not adhere to the 1950's original order of release in any way. When Russ Cochran started publishing the comics in (I'm guessing) 1991 also, he seemed to keep the Gladstone "mix and match" format. Late in 1992 he started over with the line and published the series as they were originally published in the 50's. Although I haven't confirmed it, Russ Cochran appears to have the same publishing address as Gemstone. I'm assuming Diamond (Gemstone) bought out Russ Cochran at some point. Q
