I was a fan of the Champions. I do have a complete set. With this series, the later ones are actually better because they had better creative teams. Champions #1 Champions #3 Champions #11 Champions #16 Champions #17 Great Sentinels cover on that last issue. The loose ends from the Champions storyline was concluded in one of the Marvel magazines. I've got a set of these, too. Have never read them, though.

Evidently, I have a duplicate of #1 that I'd forgotten about. Champions #1 (copy 2) Defiant1

Evidently, I have a duplicate of #1 that I'd forgotten about. Champions #1 (copy 2) Defiant1 This always seemed like one of the worst Marvel Groups of the 70's to me. This collection of B and C rated heroes as a group just never done it for me. Even now I don't want to own it except for being collectible or value. I'd have no interest, otherwise.

I love this series and I love the criticisms about it. It is the oddest mix of heroes ever combined to form a team. A demon afflicted biker, wealthy genetically mutated preppies, a Greek god, a Russian spy. I thought they did pretty good with the series considering all the obstacles. I like the original X-Men team, so I was glad Iceman had a home. The later issues have excellent art. Defiant1
