Broadway or Defiant?
And why?
Im curious what real fans of both companies would say. I know which one I would rather have back, but I'll wait until I hopefully see a few answers.

I'd rather have Broadway back because it seemed more reality based. Star Seed was excellent.
Ironically, an unpublished Broadway comics strip was merging the two universes. The dragon spirit in Fatale was real in the Dark Dominion. Michael could see it.

It's like asking which of your children is your favorite.
It depends on exactly what you're asking. If it's which company I would like back with the creative teams and methods that were used continueing on with the plans that were presented to us, I would say Broadway hand down. They just put out better comics. And damnit I want to finally see the Technomancers in action!;D
If you're talking about just which characters and concepts i'ld like back more I'ld have to think about it....

I'll go with Broadway, as well. As much as I like the Defiant universe, I thought the whole "gore for the org" thing was kind of dumb. Broadway does seem a lot more realistic. I also prefer the production values of Broadway a lot more, too.

Okay now I got an answer on the characters/concepts I liked better. What was it that made most Broadway comics so great? It was the execution. The detailed characterization. The depth. The quirky, human dialog. As Shooter would say, it's how the words on the page were organized. But if you didn't have that execution, that extrodinary creative team that can transcend the genre and you replaced it with more average talent, what would you have on most of the books? An alien looking for his father. A woman running from a secret society. That's pretty standard fair in comics (and science fiction). If we put more average writers and artists on the books I doubt I would be interested. Defiant, on the other hand, we did sometimes have guys who wrote more traditional, more average stories. Not that they were bad, but they just weren't on the level of depth and characterization that Shooter did. But still I was always interested in seeing what we were going to discover on Plasm, what else would pop up in the Dark Dominion, whose butt Charles Smith would kick next, ect The concepts themselves were more orginal, vast, and interesting. I would really rather see were they were going and what was going to happen to those characters and places. So based solely on characters and concepts, I'ld say Defiant.

Well....I have to admit, I have only read a few of any of these. So I guess I dont have too much of a right to vote. But other than the true obscure, I do believe I own all the regular books. (not a hard feat). So hopefully owning nearly all of them gives me a right to vote. On the one hand, I think I tend to get more excited and wowed at the way the Broadway books looked. They always looked really good to me. I just do not know much beyond that. On the other hand, I found most Defiant books to have a certain....blandness....for lack of a better word...look...to them, which I thought really hurt their desirability. However, I do recall reading a few issues of Plasm and I really enjoyed it. And the art was outstanding, especially once you started reading. So, I think I lean towards rather having Broadway back because I think they just had a "look" going that given a longer history....could of...well, we will never know, but they sure made some nice looking books. But overall, my best reading memory goes to the few Defiant issues I read. So....give me a Plasm like story in Broadway packaging and Id be real happy.

Honestly I would have to Defiant because I thought the concepts were more orginal and the characters more defined.

Honestly I would have to Defiant because I thought the concepts were more orginal and the characters more defined. I felt like they were still changing them drastically. Just my opinion. I felt as though Broadway flowed better. Broadway retroactively incorporated DEFIANT in one unpublished script. Maybe that was intended all along? Defiant1
