You know what really blows my mind looking at those pictures.
Issue #1 of the Good Guys has a cover date of 1993. I don't remember where the ages of the kids for that book were published but I remember they ranged something like Zach who was around 8 years old to Daniel who was I think 17.
Which means that now they are all between 21 and 30! Think about that for a minute, one or two of them aren't even in their 20's anymore. As a Defiant fan who still regularly re-reads Defiant comics every two years, and as such has those kids, or rather their likenesses captured in time that just blows my mind. And makes me feel old.
I wonder what ever happened to those kids. Some of them have to be married and have kids by now. Heck the girls may not even have the same last names anymore. I alwasy wished Wizard or someone would do a where are they now type of feature. Although I know it will never happen as the book was not nearly popular enough to warrant something like that. But still as someone who missed the age range to apply for that contest by exactly one year I enjoyed living vicariously through them.
And thanks for the link, it's cool to finally get a good look at what they kids actually looked like. Have to admit the artist put a lot of work into truly drawing the characters in the real kids likeness.

Welcome to the board.
A girl who won one of the later "bad guy" contests has blogged about her experience. It would be interesting to see if the contest was a positive influence in the kids' lives.
