Sweet covers. I always liked Marvel age.
It was Merc who died right (refering to the second cover)? I haven't found the final issues but I've seen everyone else after their cancelation I think.

I can't bring myself to buy them. I wasn't buying comics at all when they first came out. I remember seeing them on a spinner rack and thinking 1) I've lost all touch with comics and 2) Why the hell would marvel create these? I remember some people avoiding them like the plague and I remember people predicting it's demise. I forgot about comics for a few more years after that. I own a Starbrand #1 and maybe an issue of Spitfire(?). I've never read either. I may create a checlist one day, but I'm not in a rush and I doubt I'll ever attempt to buy anymore. Q

I just bought a huge chunk of the New Universe for 25 cents a book. I still have to check out a New Universe checklist and see which books I'm missing. Is the New Universe list at Forgotten Universes pretty complete or is he missing some stuff?

I remember some people avoiding them like the plague and I remember people predicting it's demise. I haven't heard of a comic company that hasn't been said about and, with the exception of DC, Marvel, Image, Dark Horse and a couple others, they've been right so far.

At the time, I wasn't in touch with many people collecting, so when I say "some", that means everybody I encountered that 'had' been or was interested in comics. Image didn't exist. I had never heard of Dark Horse. I remember also seeing "Star Comics" on the spinner rack and wondering what the hell Marvel was tryng to do. Seeing "Star Comics" actually seemed refreshing because I'm old enough to remember when Marvel published "Lil' Kids" and "Harvey" which were both non-superhero titles. Q
