I'm not sure if this is everthing I own... but these are the ones I have listed at www.dynamicpolls.com/comics to date.... Crime Suspenstories (EC 1950-1955): 10, 13, 17 Extra (EC 1955): 1, 1 Impact (EC 1955): 1 Incredible Science Fiction (EC 1955-1956): 30, 31, 32, 33 M.D. (EC 1955): 1, 3, 4, 5 Panic (EC 1954-1956): 8 Piracy (EC 1954-1955): 1, 1, 5 Psychoanalysis (EC ): 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5 Shock Suspenstories (EC 1952-1955): 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 Vault of Horror (E.C. 1950-1955): 27 Weird Fantasy (EC 1950-1953): 21 Weird Science (EC 1950-1953): 22 I'm cheap and I want at least a solid VG if possible. Evidently my preference for the Shock & Crime series shows more than I expected. If I'm ever torn between two comics, I'll grab a Shock issue over a horror issue. The aren't any stores in Atlanta that can keep original EC comic in stock. Defiant1

Most of my original EC's have been plundered by me several years ago, when I needed money. I used to have several nice copies of Vault of Horror, Shock Suspenstories, & Tales From The Crypt. I also had many early Mad magazines (also by EC for other readers who might not know), which I sold. They were from the 1st magazine issue (#24) to issues in the #80's. I still have a complete run from like #90-130+.
I currently have issues of Valor & Piracy from their "New Trend" era, plus issues #1 & #2 of Shock Illustrated , & issue #1 of Crime Illustrated from their short-lived magazine sized Picto-Fiction series (of which ONLY Mad was a survivor---alot of people don't know that issues #1-23 of Mad were originally comic books).
In the early 1970's East Coast comics reprinted around a dozen EC titles. I have those, plus the oversized ones which came out in the late 70's. I never bought any of the hardback reprints because they weren't in color & they were expensive. When Gladstone started reprinting the entire EC line in the late 80's & early 90's, I bought them all. The originals were pricey, & I just wanted to read all the stories. I have many extras of some of these for trade if anyone wants to try them for a good read.---Steve

I have some of the Magazine size reprints that I picked up cheap. I have quite a few of the newer reprints also. I had a Mad #9 (comic) and traded it for Psychoanalysis #1-4. I already had a #3 and wanted the whole series. I don't collect MAD. I prefer the Williamson, Frazetta, Johnny Craig stuff. I missed an opportunity to get some of the Picto whatever you called them. I've only seen them once in person. I planned on buying them but someone else got them before I told the guy. One of my biggest disappointments in collecting was when I made a special trip to pick up a 1973 printing of "Seduction of the Innocent". I stopped by the store, started chatting with the manager and forgot why I'd made the trip. I left, got on the road to visit another comic book store. While I'm at the other store, I realize i'd forgotten to buy the book. I call up the first store to tell the guy I'm coming back to buy it. No luck. He'd sold just after I left. Not only did he sell it, but he sold it to the wife of the guy who owned the store where I was. It was a gift for him. I couldn't tell him that I was about 10 minutes away from buying his birthday gift for myself. Defiant1

That's a very ironic story about "Seduction". I have a story about "Seduction" also. When I moved here in Indiana from New York, I found a copy of Seduction at the local library. It didn't have the dustjacket, & someone had already ripped out the pages of art in the middle. I checked it out from the library & then told them I lost it. I think they fined me $3. I kinda felt bad, but I wanted that book. It actually had the list of publishers (page 400 I think), which was removed from the majority of the books before they were distributed. I guess some libraries got their copies first, before the page was ordered removed. Anyway, I got rid of that back in the late 80's when I was in need of cash....I still have an original hardback of All In Color For A Dime ---Steve

Someone else probably did the same. I don't know about the interior. Defiant1

I did something similiar to this once, but it was an out of print video from a local video store. It was in the dark days when the Talking Heads movie "Stop Making Sense" was out of print and I couldn't find a copy anywhere. I think the video store wanted to charge me "replacement value" but then found out they couldn't replace it, so I think they charged me $10. At the time, that seemed like a bargain. I watched that VHS copy for many years until the movie was finally put back into print a few years back. If you have never seen "Stop Making Sense", check it out, very cinematic for a concert video! Sorry this had nothing to do with EC Comics, I've often read some of the reprints, but I always figured the originals were too expensive for me to ever think about collecting.

I don't dislike the Talking Heads, but I've just never been compelled to buy anything they've released. I was always more of a Ramones fan or a fan of The Cars. I own just about everything The Cars have released be it DVD, box set or whatever. EC comics are indeed expensive. I usually settle for G/VG. Anything I own in better condition is simply a miracle. The ones I'm the proudest to own I got by trading Valiant for them. The thing to know about EC's is that the art in low grade originals looks a million times better than any modern reprint. Defiant1
