Don't know if anyone's heard of these yet but here's a few Jim Shooter podcasts interviews from Comiczone: www.comiczoneradio.com/interviews/jim_shooter/One of the cool tidbits mentioned in the 10/11/04 podcast was Jim talking about how Mike Richardson of Dark Horse was initially being interested in putting up money for Defiant back in the day.

I own an internal DEFIANT comics video for employees that features a bunch of video clips about Dark Horse projects on the big screen. It has some Entertainment Tonight segments and it has a series of special effects footage (with a timer counting) from The MASK that I've never seen anywhere else. Interesting stuff that shows DEFIANT had their eye on getting to the big screen.

So there is a Dark Horse connection to Defiant! I'm sure Defiant would have had a longer comic life span if it were published under the Dark Horse umbrella. I'm a huge fan of Dark Horse as well. Dark Horse ran their "Comics Greatest World" imprint that wasn't really all that memorable. Maybe someone can slip Mike Richardson a "Plasm" Trade so maybe he could snatch up the Defiant rights. ;D ;D ;D A "Plasm" movie these days would be incredible. (I would much rather read about the rest of the "Defiant Universe" story before a movie though)

Dark Horse wanted to back Jim Shooter, but he felt he had a better opportunity with the River Group. in retrospect, it might have been better for both if Dark Horse had hired Jim Shooter. I don't know if they would have had enough money to do what they did at Defiant, but who knows. The lawsuit might have crippled Dark Horse. It's hard to look back and know what the implications might have been. Defiant1

I like these kinds of quotes: MDT: Have you thought about coming back to revisit the Plasm universe?
Jim Shooter: I've thought about doing some bio-tech stuff. Plasm is now owned by Golden Books Entertainment and I have a relatively good relationship with them. So if I come up with something, I might.www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=146This is from an old article (2000) from CBR. I was looking for interviews on Shooter post-Defiant Comics. This kinda gives a little hope for a Defiant return, right? It's only been 14 years since Plasm #13. Great concepts like "Plasm" can't be left alone! ;D

Great concepts like "Plasm" can't be left alone! ;D I think Jim is keeping all options on the table. In his "radio" interview, he said the phone wasn't ringing with job offers. The problem is... everyone has moved on. I personally can't see the creators pulling back together again. Is it possible? I don't know. I'm sure by now the creators classify me & my site as a wild card and they are worried about what I might say in response to that kind of an effort. I have a wordy book to write on this topic, buy I'll refrain. I've exchanged a few discussion with a lot of the Defiant creators. I do have opinions on the topic as well as Jim's other ventures.
