When I started shopping for Charlton's Gag comic series I knew two things in advance. 1) They'd be tough to find. 2) They might only appear in low grade. Most checklists are devoid of this info. Most scans have not been archived anywhere. Regardless, there has been a pleasant surprise. I thought the early issues would be near impossible and then later issues would appear randomly with duplication. So far that isn't necessarily a pattern. I picked up two low grade copies of Cartoon Carnival #1 and one nice copy of Cartoon Carnival #2 Cartoon Carnival #1 (slight water damage - buckled)  Cartoon Carnival #1 (Nicer, less water damage, but a piece of tape)  Cartoon Carnival #2 (One curled corner, otherwise very nice!) From one end of the spectrum to another. The #1 was from the very early 1960's. This one arrived today from Doug Sulipa's Comic World. Comic Carnival Vol. 22 #111 (Sept. 1984)  Many more to scan from my order! Defiiant1 |

Received 3 more Cartoon Carnival issues. These scans are touched up a little to remove the frayed edges or small chunks missing , but otherwise the images posted are pretty fair representations of the condition. I passed up on buying a Cartoon Carnival #30. Charltonjohn seems determined to pay three times what I'm interested in paying for some of the middle issues. Almost all are low grade, so I'm just jacking up the price he has to pay to see how long it"ll take for him to get tired of it. I still seem to be getting the issues I think have value at a decent price. I'm willing to pay more than him for certain items so I'm confident that I won't lose on anything I really think are going to be tough later on.
