This is a book I never see anymore. Not that I'm looking. I just never see it when thumbing through books. Ka-Zar (Vol.2) #1 Defiant1

I have some issues from this series, plus one of the Giants that came out before it (mostly reprints), and also the Marvel Superheroes issue that featuring him (#19). I have Jungle Action #1 also, cool reprints, and a much forgotten book that was taken over by The Black Panther.

One of my hoard books is Jungle Action #23, one of my all time favorite covers. I dragged a box of Marvel stuff to scan. To me it's lesser seen stuff these days. it used to be common. I never owned that Jungle Action issue. Defiant1

Some people may only think of Ka-Zar as a 60's & 70's Marvel character. Ka-Zar actually dates back to pulp magazines in the 1930's. He was later used by Timely comics in the 40's. So basically, Ka-Zar was more of a revival character like Captain America. These below are pretty much all reprints, but they represent Ka-Zar volume 1. More Ka-Zar... Ka-Zar (Vol. 2) #2 Ka-Zar (Vol. 2) #16 I liked this character okay, I just felt that most of his stories were a waste. Very little happened that I cared about. I liked Klaw. I really only have about 6 issues from volume 2.

So... Volume #1 was reprints. Volume #2... very little happened and the art was hit and miss. Volume #3 had nice art, but it was terrible. I have most of these up until I quit collecting comics. Despite having a near complete run through that time period... I could only find two covers even worth scanning... Ka-Zar (Volume 3) #1 Ka-Zar (Volume 3) #21 It took 21 issues to have a superhero crossover guest on the cover?! Sad. Defiant1

There was an error version and corrected version of Ka-Zar Vol.3 #12, where a panel was missing, then corrected. Supposedly one of the versions is supposed to be limited to 1600 copies of the print run, but I know I have both versions and haven't found either one to be particularly tough to find. www.comics.org/issue/36195/

I doubt too many people look for it. I probably have the error version.

Defiant1 I remember buying that #1 (Vol 3) the day it came out, which is probably my fondest memory of the character (well, actually my X-Men #10 is...) but besides that, this was....but that isn't saying much at all. Ka-zar never did much for me. He always seemed like a 3rd rate character to me. Equally third rate but somewhat a character I wanted to own more was Kull. For a brief period, I dug Kull more than Conan. Not that I was a big reader or anything. I just dug him more.

I really liked the Astonishing Tales issue where he met Man-Thing and Hydra was running around in the swamp. Man-Thing grabbed his face and he didn't burn because he doesn't fear. Cool scene to me.

This is the Ka-Zar series I liked. I had a real beat up copy that I'd gotten as a kid and I was afraid to read it because I thought the cover would fall off. I'd gotten the original at a garage sale or something. This issue wasn't one of my favorites. I like the later ones. I'm sure this was a 90's upgrade at a sale or something. It's in really nice shape. Astonishing Tales #9 Q
