I have a run of all the Bill Sienkiewicz issues (#18-31). It was when he was just getting into his abstract style. Fantastic stuff. I used to have the earlier issues, as well. I thought the characters were well done, they were real to me, characters you could care about. There were a lot of awkward teenage moments.

I have three copies of this... The New Mutants #26 This book brings back memories. This is the book I had priced for top dollar at the very last comic show I did. When I did comic shows, I almost always had hot books that no one else had. This is the book that caused me to get pissed off at the show owner. I bought this for a dollar. I had it priced $18... yes... $18... the show owner said another dealer had accused me of undercutting him on the price of this book. He accused me of depressing the price of a book he was trying to sell. I was amazed. At the same show, I sold an X-Men #300 for cover price and a lady came back complaining because she'd found it in another dealers box for a dollar. I gave the lady a refund to keep her happy. Regardless of the utterly stupid accusations, that was the show where I bought up 1st printings of Strangers in Paradise #1-3... before the prices exploded. I asked several dealers if I was paying too much and they looked at me and said "What is it?" I sold through all my limited Razor comics at this show and probably all my older Linsner books. I was glad to be out of the bad girl books I nver liked. I only bought them to sell. I also traded a Mad #9 for a run of the original Psychoanalysis series. I'd been looking for single issues of that series for a long time and to luck up and find a set that I could get in trade... I was very pleased. I don't collect Mad. Yeah, that was the last show where you could buy a speculator book in a dollar box if you were knowledgeable early, then flip it for ten times what you paid later. I quit actively selling when I couldn't quadruple my investment. Defiant1

I thought maybe it was the first appearance of the character depicted on the cover (Legion), but his first appearance is supposed to be in New Mutants #25, not #26. So could you fill me in on what was so special about this issue?
