I had a full run of 'What if?' from when they came out. I know I had them for sale, so I probably don't have a full set anymore. Here are some lower grade duplicates I picked up in a bulk purchase... What if? #11 What if? #13 Defiant1

Well, here are the copies that were in my collection... the ones I bought when they came out. It looks like I did sell some including the #1. So here's some of what I have left. What If? #2 What If? #3 What If? #4 When I post comic scans again, I should be picking up with #5 of this series next... Defiant1

Although some of the stories turned out to be odd occasionally, at least What If always had me wondering what was inside. This is a perfect cover teasing concept. Lure you with What If scenarios and then you had to buy it to find out how it turned out.
Sadly, most of today's comics don't have me wondering what is inside or What If I bought it. Hardly any cover today convinces me to buy the way these did.
I have been actively pursuing a complete run of Volume 1 of What If's for some time now. The 1st volume makes a good run of comics IMO.

I always think back on this series fondly from memory, but seeing the covers again reminds me they had some stupid story ideas.

I remember the What If's concerning the Planet Hulk storyline. Were pretty nice.

I really liked many of the What If? books, especially the apocalyptic ones where the earth was threatened or several major heroes died. In particular, What If? #32 was a favorite, where Korvac's power gets out of control and destroys his whole universe.

No way! The clone storyline started in the Amazing title itself. I have all the original appearances of the clone.

I have the most cherry copy of "What if Phoenix never died" (I'm not sure, but I think it is #27). For the longest time, I never opened one up and looked at it. And then like a year or two ago I finally did. And then I got to the ending and it was a lot more far out than I ever thought. I was thinking it would be some dramatic goody-goody story where it ends all happily. I got to the end of that and I was like....
d**n, I wasn't thinking this book would be like that!
Pretty grim and gritty, if I recall correctly. But thinking of the times when this story came out, I was like....wow! They went off!
