Giant-Size X-men #3 Neal Adams & Joss Whedon. This has a LOT of reprint material. I was sucker for buying this because I already own the stuff that was reprinted, but I think it's still cool. Defiant1

Defiant1 I've got this, too, and even though I didn't pay full price, I still felt like I wasted my money. Unfortunately, I DID pay full price. I used to get comics at 35%-45% off cover price depending upon whether I argued with the store owner. If I argued that I needed to pay MORE, I got 35% off. If I let them give me the discount they wanted to give me, I got 45% off. That's one of the reasons the price increases are unacceptable to me. Defiant1

There's a local shop which tends to overorder certain things, after keeping them for a while, they will toss them in a bargain box. This was one of the books they tossed in there. It was either a flat cost of 75 cents or a percentage off cover, don't recall.

I'd like to say that I wish comic stores here had deals like that, but I know some of the owners and selling comics for a loss would hurt them financially. I really don't wish it. I would like to see the whole comics industry work intelligently. I'd like to see back issue increase in value. Defiant1

X-Men #64 (1st Sunfire) Another duplicate. This may be the first copy i ever owned. When I was filling in my back issues below #100 to have a complete set, this one was the last "common" book for me to buy. I could not find it or #1 locally, so I bought both by mail order at the same time to complete my set. Neither lived up to my expectations as far as grade goes. I seem to recall the writing on the cover bothering me when I got it. It still bothers me. Defiant1

With the X-Men #297, keep your eye out for one with a gold background on the X-Men logo instead of the red and with a Pressman board game ad on the back. That would be a Pressman board game variant of this issue, which is very hard to come by. I found one at a comic show in a quarter box, and sold it on eBay for $142.53. It was only in Fine condition.

Yep. I know about that one. It's probably not something I'll ever find. Normally, I don't thumb through boxes with X-Men in them. I have #1-#350 and I'm not interested in new ones. I pay more attention to bronze, silver and gold. I'm not really buying much bronze either. I figure I passed on it the first time, so I don't see any reason to change my mind now. Defiant1
