Thought these ads were interesting... Defiant1 Hmm, this reminds me of when I was like 10 and I sold cards for the J.S.C.A. aka The Junior Sales Club of America. I think you sold a full box of cards for like $3.50 and you got to keep $1 for each box you sold. I think me and my sister went door to door one Xmas and sold around 50 boxes to all the neighbors. When I look back on it, I cannot believe we did it. And when I see kids today, I know they wouldn't do anything like that. But it's amazing what people would do back then. I remember I had a friend who sold the Grit newspaper. I remember looking at that and thinking it wasn't worth doing. But it is amazing that if kids wanted to make money back then, there was all kinds of ways to be little sales people.

I was more interested in the content of these ads. A kid waving a gun? A gorilla escaping from a cage? These would be frowned upon by those who are politically correct.
Get a dog in the mail? Sheesh!

If I had got my hands on a ".22" at that age....god only knows what might have happened.
I got in enough trouble with a BB gun.

If I had got my hands on a ".22" at that age....god only knows what might have happened. I got in enough trouble with a BB gun. I was lucky. No matter how adventurous I got, there were always kids in the neighborhood doing worse and providing a great example of what not to do. Defiant1
