I always thought Crossgen made some nice looking books but just like Valiant, I kind of doubt the magic can be recreated. However, I do feel a bit better about Marvel doing it compared to say......Dark Horse.

I lost any respect I had for Dark Horse. I really mean that too. As someone who never got excited about anything they published, I thought Shooter's revamp had a perfect home and there was a chance for me to be excited. The completely inadequate art couple with the nonexistent marketing just resulted in a crappy book with crappy support. I don't regret saving my money one bit. The art is just a flat out distraction it's so mediocre to bad. Crossgen never impressed me either, so I don't care. I'm not into fantasy. I never will be. The closest I can get to liking Fantasy is/was Hudnall's Harsh Realm series for Harris Comics. The art wasn't great in that series, but the story was cool and it didn't distract me too much. I think Quesada needs something like Crossgen to keep him occupied. I kinda wonder if JM DeMatteis leaving Atlas may have something to do with Marvel publishing Crossgen. If you think about it, Abadazad was the first thing Disney released once they bought the properties and it was written by DeMatteis. Abadazad was also the first Crossgen book I ever bought because I bought most anything Ploog ever draws... even his Sludge special for Ultraverse. Abadazad #1 Abadazad #2 Abadazad #3 Defiant1
