Listen up folks. I'm tired of the deception and lies in this hobby. Mile High Comics has bumped up the price of their professionally graded copy of Miracle on Broadway from $2250 to $3000. The census for graded comics only shows 1 copy. If the d**n thing hasn't sold in the past year for $1000 bucks.... and it hasn't sold for $2250.... why in the f**k should anybody pay $3000. Quato

Quato That is strange.... Maybe certain numerals have a higher appealing sound to it and it coaxes the customer to buy even though they know the price is higher. The $3000 price has a more soothing and comforting feel to it and you may buy it because it makes you feel better paying that number for it.

The $3000 price has a more soothing and comforting feel to it and you may buy it because it makes you feel better paying that number for it. Chuck is just trying to manipulate the market. He knows the comic is rare. He wants to draw some out onto the market so that he can make $500 or $1000 for his copy. If he prices his for $1,000, he's hoping that someone will sell theirs for $500. If he can do that it establishes the book as a $500 book and he can increase his odds of making $500 off of the book he got free. The problem is, it hasn't drawn any out of the market and the few that have appeared aren't taking his drunken sailor price as even relevant. He keeps uping the price he charges to see how the market will respond. $2250 didn't make anyone greedy. He was hoping $3,000 would make someone greedy. Eventually it did pull one copy onto the market and the copy sold for a far more reasonable $150... no more. Simple fact, if my site hadn't brought attention to the line of comics and this book in general, it would still be sitting in personal stashes gathering dust. This is just a case of someone trying to pull strings. I own scissors. I can cut strings. Q

I was obviously joking, but you make great points Q. I know you were joking, but when I see a $3000 price on this it annoys me. There is no basis for it. It preys on people and alienates people from trying to complete a set. Collectors want to feel like a goal is attainable. Chuck took the goal of getting a set and made a mockery of it soley to pad people's pockets.. Q

What do you feel is a justified price for a MOB?
You mention $150 is far more reasonable. Is that fair value?
Is it less? More? Will the current value go up or crashing down?
Im curious how you feel about the future of this book. I do not own one, but I wouldnt mind having one.

Im curious how you feel about the future of this book. I do not own one, but I wouldnt mind having one. Given that people do want it and it is so rare at the moment, I feel that $150 is a fair price for it. If more people start really wanting it or more copies start flipping in the market, I could see a legitimate demand growing. That kind of involvement takes time to grow and it shouldn't be forced. Some people think pre-Unity Valiant went up in price because retailers were gouging the customer. that is not the case. Customers were demanding that retailers restock the comics they were selling out of. That meant that for retailers to restock, the cheapest the could get bthe comics for were at full retail. In order to obtain a proofit margin, they had to double the price of the comic. There is no demand that high for Miracle on Broadway. Chuck's price is a gouge and it's insulting to the interested customers across this country. Q

I always felt Chuck raised prices just before a "big sale", but that is quite a jump. It's a nice book to have but before I drop $3k on a modern issue, I would take that money and be searching for a nice GA issue.

Hulk #1? or Miracle On Broadway? Duh.... No contest. One helped shape multiple generations, one sat forgotten in a closet gathering dust. Q
