Charlemange 1&2 signed by Adam Polina and D.G. Chestister Also... is Defiant Genisis Comicfest '93 actually worth $20 Most signed comics are not worth more for being signed. Usually the price would be about the same as unsigned if not lower because many people consider the writing to be a defect.. especially if you can't prove who signed it. I would not pay $20 for a copy of Defiant Genesis. I would be shocked if anyone paid $10. Defiant comics have little or no aftermarket value at this time. Most people will wait for a bargain before buying the harder to find issues. I think your easiest sells would be 3rd Edition Plasm Binder (very obscure), Birth of the Defiant Universe #1 (1000 published), Great Grimmax #0, Charlemagne #0. After that I'd say... the spanish versions of Prudence and Caution (both #1 & #2), Dogs of War #5 and anything else on my list of low print run Defiant issues. Defiant1

Charlemangne #0 is hard to find?
I'm not looking to sell, just checking to see if they had value.
comicspriceguide.com has the defiant genesis (comicfest '93) listed at $20, and a guy's selling (or trying to sell) his for $19.99

I'm sure some people probably left it in the bag and just threw it away. Some are still polybagged with the magazines and some retailer probably tossed some of those. Basically they didn't get into the hands of people who wanted them, so some people do ask for them and have trouble finding them. Retailers may have copies of the magazines they could sell... and not know it. I'd scour ebay for the Defiant Genesis book. You might luck up and get it in a set for cheaper than it would cost by itself. BTW...I've never actually seen one without the comicfest logo, but it was on ebay that way, so I list it. Defiant1

I lucked up and got a load of unwanteds from an out of business comic store.
A few old Thor issues, an old Gold Key Twilight Zone, a bunch of quarter bin stuff. Along with the Comicfest Defiant Genesis, Charlemagne 0-4, 1-2 had been signed. The only other comic I remember being in the lot were, Wolverine/NightMan, Wolverine/Witchblade, Grifter/Shi, some Star Wars comics, and... the rest are still fuzzy I know their were a bunch of Shadow Hawk #0-1 die cut stinkers. All for a couple of bucks

I think I saw 4 Comicfest Genesis's and another book end at around $6 on ebay a while back. There's just nobody that wants these books, regardless of the rarity. And the people that do, don't seem to want them that bad. For instance, I can't find a Charlemagne #0, but I'm not going to pay $5 for it on Mile High.
The only book I could see selling for more than cover price (if it had a normal cover price) is Birth of. But I still wouldn't pay that much for the book.

Jim Shooter appeared on QVC (back in 1994), and they were offered on there, but I don't recall if it was the one with the Comicfest logo, or the other one. I know that I ordered a bunch of Defiant stuff from there, some stuff I already had, and some I didn't, but it had his autograph.

He may have actually appeared on QVC a couple of times, I don't remember for sure. I always watched the QVC shows with comic book people, or I taped them because they talked about comics. I did record Shooter's appearance/appearances, and I still have them on VHS, but I have no idea where they are. Like half the stuff I own, it's somewhere in my house. I know when he was on, they offered lots of Defiant books in groups bagged together. I got an autographed copy of Defiant Genesis with a bunch of other books, and a poster of many of the Defiant characters with them. I have two or three of them, and I know one of them has the Comicfest logo on it, but I don't think the other two have it. I had a roof partially fall in about five years back, and one of the autographed copies got some water damage, but I kept it anyway. I'm in the middle of cleaning my garage out (a never ending task), so I'm still trying to locate things as I go along.
