I had no idea there was a box cutter by Defiant. I've never seen that before. I'll have to look for one of those.

I'd be willing to bet it was used more for internal use. I never saw any for sale on the collector's market and I don't remember them giving any away. It's possible they were given to retailers so they could open their comic deliveries but I don't remember it... Defiant1

That would make sense to me, because I've never seen one, either. If that's the case it may be tough to find one. I'll still keep my eyes open just in case.

I have one or two of these around. I'd kind of be hard pressed to let go of them, since I actually use them...you know, since 9/11 you can't buy carton cutter knives at Staples anymore.
These were, as I recall, produced as giveaways to comic book stores. It was an incredibly practical and useful giveaway - after all, at the time stores were getting boatloads of boxes from Quebecor, some of them even filled with our books.

And how that happened with a couple of box cutters is beyond ME. "ohhh you're gonna CUT me ?" Small price to pay considering the alternative. But then again, my line of work gives me a different mind set.

Small price to pay considering the alternative. But then again, my line of work gives me a different mind set. Ten, fifteen years ago, in NYC, it became impossible to buy spray paint and fat markers in both stationery stores and hardware stores without presenting multiple forms of ID. You absolutely couldn't buy this stuff if you were under 21. It's totally inconvenient and irritating, but then again, NYC has a lot less graffiti than before. Just one of those prices you pay for living in a place like this... pw
