I had photocopied some other art in my collection, and here are some of the scans I was going to post at my art site. I doubt I'll get to it anytime soon. I have more Cavewoman art, this is all I had photocopied and scanned. My Strangehaven art (the last one) is actually blue pencils on the original piece. Cavewoman: Rain #1 pg 9 (Her first appearance in the series) Cavewoman: Rain #1 pg 25 (The last page? This is when Cavewoman was a sweet character with a cute butt. New drawings of her are horrible.) Cavewoman: Rain #2 pg 1 (Budd confessed that he spent more time on this one page than he did on the entire rest of the comic) Strangehaven #?? (A later page in the series, originals are in blue pencils) Defiant1

I had some interest in the Strangehaven book when it first came out as I heard many describe it as being very much like the TV show, "Twin Peaks", which I am a huge fan of. For some reason I could never find a first printing of issue #1 and didn't want to start collecting it if I couldn't have all the issues from the beginning in first prints. What's your opinion of the comic, Defiant1?

For some reason I could never find a first printing of issue #1 and didn't want to start collecting it if I couldn't have all the issues from the beginning in first prints. What's your opinion of the comic, Defiant1? Top Notch! One of my favorites. The plots develop very slowly but they unfold and maintain a compelling nature through all. I never watched Twin Peaks, but I too have heard the comparison quite often. I'd say it's references throughout are quite intellectual and that helps maintain an appeal for me. From cooking tidbits of info to African mysticism it has the characters dipping into a lot of side subjects. Everything appears to be relevant, but even if it doesn't end up being relevant, it's still fun. I like the art in the earlier issues better. The page I own was done in blue pencils and then I believe he completed it in the computer. It saved the artist time, but the quality suffered a bit also. Cavewoman: Rain, Strangehaven, & Sinnamon kept me collecting comics through the Layton & Acclaim years for Valiant. Keep in mind that Valiant was the only thing that kept me collecting comics when I returned to the hobby in 1991 or so. I tried to buy into The wave of Image artists before they started Image, but the feel I like was gone. Image was more of the same, except they introduced characters that not only copied Marvel & DC heroes, but dumbed them down. The indy titles that appeal to me are/were more consistent because one person usually controlled or managed both the art & the story. There wasn't a revolving door of creators trying to revamp an indy series every month. Another series I highly recommend is Optic Nerve by Adrian Tomine. I may buy a page or two of his art eventually. If you really want to pick up Strangehaven, I think I can hook you up waith a 1st print of #1 as well as 1st prints of the rest. I'd want $5 for #1 if you bought it with the later ones for cover price. I don't really want to sell my duplicate #1 without also moving a whole set. I usually bought in 3's back then on indy's. If I ordered one of an indy book it would be handled too much in processing and it would be damaged 100% of the time. When I bought in 3's the odds of getting a decent batch were much better. Cavewoman has nice boobies... I know that is immature but dammit the gal has some healthy lungs. In that series her breastesses were modest, well drawn and "nice" indeed. I'm a bit disgusted by they way the artists (plural) draw her now. She was cute and fun. Now she's grotesque. When I bought that art, Budd was charging more for the dinosaur pages than he was for pages with her in them. As he started selling more art through the years, I think he started seeing the cheescake pages sell faster. When I walked by his table at Heroes Con in Charlotte page 9 from #1 just jumped out at me because it was already one of my favorite pages in the book. I was ready to leave and out the door twice, but I kept going back to buy more because I knew I'd regret not getting as many pages as I could. I stumbled across that show by accident. I was coming through Charlotte on the way back from a vacation. That convention also planted the seed for my Defiant site. That was where I first saw an unpublished Defiant Schism page for sale by Andrew Pepoy. Defiant1

Defiant1 yeah, I'd definitely be in the market for a complete set. Is it still an ongoing book? I think the latest issue I saw on Chuck's site was #16. Chuck's prices are higher than cover, but I want to take a look on eBay to see if I can find a set dirt cheap. You're getting me interested in too many comics! I also now have the urge to get a complete set of the BWS: Storyteller books with the slipcase, as well.

I also now have the urge to get a complete set of the BWS: Storyteller books with the slipcase, as well. Regarding StoryTeller...I have three slipcases. Two sealed. All warped inward from the shrink wrapping. I have some duplicates on StoryTeller but my depth is uneven. Some I have only one copy, others I have 3 or 4. I bought out a store that was closing. they only had the later issues. Quite a few people have told me over the years that If I like it... it's good. People I purposely won't have anything to do with at work (for lying, backstabbing etc.) have said....."that place must have good food... David likes it." Defiant1
