Phil latter brought up the Elementals and the Justice Machine families of titles and spin offs. I don't know enough about them to have an opinion. Phil has been thinking about joining the board. Is anyone else here interested in those properties? just curious. If he wants a checklist, I'm perfectly willing to make it happen. One of the reasons I like making checklists is that it gets people looking in their back issue boxes. It brings the hobby back to life rather than just getting dusty in a basement closet.

I've got complete runs of the Justice Machine and Elementals Comico series and also the earlier magazine sized Justice Machine series. Pretty good books.

I guess to make a checklist, I need to know what to include or where to look. Any idea what this includes? Phil says there are some spin off books. Q

Justice Machine was the first book, it started as a magazine sized comic by Noble Comics. The first three issues were magazine sized, but #4 and #5 were closer to regular comic size. Then the title went to Texas Comics, which published the Justice Machine Annual, which was the first appearance of the Elementals. Texas Comics was going to publish an ongoing Elementals title, but they quickly went out of business and only published the JM Annual. The Elementals were then picked up by Comico. Later, they also brought back the Justice Machine, first in a mini series (featuring the Elementals) then in their own series. The JM Comico series lasted 29 issues and an annual. They resurfaced years later and were published by Innovation and Millenium Comics.
The Elementals fared much better with Comico, their first series lasting 29 issues, and then the numbering was restarted and a Vol. 2 started, which lasted another 26 issues. I believe the Elementals lasted pretty much up until the end of Comico Comics. There were also a ton of spin-off titles, some solo mini series for various team members and several of the "Sex Specials".

I have mixed feelings about compiling a list that dispersed. Too easy to leave off some distant cousin to their related titles. I bought #4 of Justice Machine when it came out. www.comics.org/coverview.lasso?id=247655&zoom=4Seeing the "Full Color" banner must have meant it met my minimum requirements at the time. I passed up on the stack of TMNT #1's because they were inferior B&W comics. Defiant1
