Reposted from cpg's forum.... -------------------------------------- I looked through dozens if not hundreds of pages from Bill Golliher to find a classic page with Betty & Veronica. The price was reasonable. While it's not superhero, it's fun stuff and it fills the scope of what I want my collection to be. I don't always want the most expensive or bragging rights over the very, very best. I do want art that is representative of what the characters mean to me. I do want well balanced pieces with good composition. I don't really want a lot of establishing shots that just show you a house or a where the dialogue is taking place. I prefer characters that I'm familiar with. This piece hit the mark on everything even though I'm not familiar with the published comic itself. I guess that gives me something to look for in the future. Defiant1

I like it.....I only own 2 pages of original art at this moment. Ive always wanted to collect it, but when it comes down to a little money going towards a comic or a page, I always seem to choose a comic. Thats my downfall. Although, I am eventually going to get more one day. I have considered stuff like this because everyone knows the Archie characters. Its easier getting a GOOD piece from them at a reasonable price than a well known superhero on a good page. So why not? I would guess the more pieces you have the more expensive you start buying and I guess I am just not ready for that yet.

That's basically what art dealers do. They buy in bulk or act as an art agent for specific creators. The art dealer deals with all the stupid questions. They keep the value of the works as high as possible and deal with most of the headaches. I have over 100 pages of art that I bought for $5 - $15 a page. I bought a few $30-$40 J.G. Jones Fatale pages and since they were horribly picked over, I'm not proud of them. My advice is either buy stuff off the beaten path in bulk or hold out for the true gems and resign yourself to pay full price. I see no big joy in getting mediocre pieces at a mediocre price. It gets very expensive and it isn't very rewarding. Defiant1
