Back in 2002, I got a smile when I saw the cover of a July issue of a local free newspaper. The newspaper goes by the name of Creative Loafing. The cover featured a certain Torchy Taboo, and the article inside is about her attempt to bring back Burlesque. It's a stage name. I knew her real name, but her last name escapes me at the moment. 1) She went to high school at a neighboring school district from the one I attended. 2) She was the best friend of a girl I was madly in love with many years ago. 3) She is the ex-wife of a comics historian/creator/artist and I used to see her at Dragon Con. Yeah, she was married to Greg Theakston. 4) She was editor of Tease! Magazine (that probably ended with the divorce) When I was flipping through things I own, this made me think back to how life takes people down different paths. This post is not for Torchy. This post is for Tina Williams who broke my heart a few times in my youth. I always think back of her fondly. She pursued her dream of working with rock stars. I still wonder if she's doing well and living that dream. The cover was washed out, so I've enhanced it.. atlanta.creativeloafing.com/gyrobase/Content?oid=oid%3A9338Defiant1
