Wow Q! I just got done looking at the list and clicking on all the links. I think its awesome! Ive seen a few other links, but the most they generally do is list the titles of the books and maybe...maybe...the issue #'s. This list here is honestly the best list I have personally seen. And the gallery pics are the topping on the cake! Id really like to see that grow. In fact, if you want, I would be willing to scan the rest of mine little by little to put what I have on the list and as I get them, I would like to keep adding more to it. Trust me, Im going to print this list out and its going to be my main checklist. So, Im happy to see it. BTW....I havent had a chance to count...any idea how many distinct issues there are in the Charlton library? I know there may be a few missing from your list....but you have to be pretty dang close.

I have not had a chance to count the issues. There is a LOT of room for error because of the way Charlton renamed titles and then later reused issue numbers. I agree that my list is the easiest for collectors to print and use. As discussed in other threads, some information is assumed. I found scattered info on the Good Humor comic series with online references made to issues going up to #104. I found NO references to #1-4 and knowing how Charlton was, I suspect #1-4 might have been published as Cartoon Spice. This adult magazine is dated 1958, published by Charlton, and predates the comic. There was not any clear info on the Ronald McDonald promo comics. Overstreet lists a #1 & #3. I found a site saying a no number issue reprints #2 with a different cover image. My theory on Bluebird seems to weigh in as correct when I see that each issue appeared to have 5 versions. Versions I suspected as existing have been referenced in obscure places.. but so far a growing number are referenced. I have not scoured the magazine lists yet. Q

It never ends! I found yet another Charlton comic in my collection. It's in pretty decent shape for a 1966 comic book. Army War Heroes #12 (January 1966) A smaller scan is posted on the web page. I've posted a larger scan here for Mr. G to see. covergallery.sinfree.net/Charlton/Charlton_index.html#AQ

I really like that one. Nice color combination, decent logo's, insight cover with lettering, not bad art at all and in real decent shape. Id say I wouldnt mind having one just like it one bit.

The Scooby Doo Digest will be dropped from the Charlton Comics checklist with version 3.51. Online reports did not clarify that it was published by Ottenheimer, NOT Charlton. The format and look of thebook is exactly the same as the Charlton digests and all appear to have been made for Xerox Educational Publications. More Info
