I assume Voltron (1985) is not the same "Modern Comics".

I actually had a chance to get a set of these for like $3 and passed at Joey's Comic Kings and then regretted it and came back for it later and they were gone and now Im kicking myself. They do NOT seem like the same Moderns when I seen it, but its debatable too...1985 was when Charlton made the last push and had a slightly different look. Perhaps they tried the same thing with Voltron under the Modern banner. Id like to see that verified. But, right now, I wish I had gotten that set when I had the chance.

Yeah, but they were struggling. There is no evidence they were licensing materials and everything else they published was obscure reprints to things they'd already sold the old name. It just seems very unlikely unless the were really banking on this. I doubt it.

Yeah, I meant to post that I doubt it too. But, it was rather odd seeing another Modern publisher out there. Was there anything else this 2nd publisher may have done because I have never seen anything and I have seen another board also post Voltron under the Modern banner with question marks wondering if it belonged on the list or not (  ??)....like you, I doubt it. But seems strange and the timing is odd too. Just uncanny when you think of it. |
