Yep, I'd like to get some high grade copies of those. I can never seem to find them very cheap, though.

Most are VF. I was grabbing the nicest copy based on the front covers and then noticed some had a 25 cents sticker on the back cover. I quickly started looking for the ones with no sticker on them. One is a little messed up. I may own some of these already, but i figured it was worth a gamble for a buck.

one of the few sets of Atlas books I actually have! I targeted the Vicki books early as I heard they were the toughest to get. I think all of my copies are in high grade, maybe not NM, but in the VF area.

interesting oddball stuff, those are the kind of books I pick up when I find them in the cheap boxes. Speaking of that, one of the local comic shops is having a huge 50 cent sale today starting at noon. Here's hoping I'll be the only one there and can get my pick of the books!

Monster Posse is of course Greg Boone. I bought it thinking it was probably a later and possibly tough issue to get. Ironically cpg.com didn't have it listed. I submitted it as a missing issue. The heroines inc is just a real early avatar book from 1989. I thought it was a novelty. it was only a quarter. Sadly, i paid cover price for the speed racer and the green hornet. Those just happen to be some of the few titles I want to complete from NOW comics.

The sale turned out to be pretty good, the comics were actually 3/$1 and they also had magazines and graphic novels for a buck. I made out like a bandit, especially with the graphic novels. I think the coolest thing I got was a Rio hardcover graphic novel signed and numbered by Doug Wildey, who is a comics and animation legend in my opinion. This book costs $34.95 when it was new, got it for $1!

It's a 1992 Dark Horse promo sampler binder from comics they published that year. it includes Godzilla, Mask, Nexus, Byrne work etc. defiant1

My 2nd Topps TPB rolled in. It's nice, but my previous one was in better shape. especially with the cards. It also had these items with it... Death of Vampirella limited to 10,000 Dracula: Vlad the Impaler foil variant... limited to 500 per Rocket. Defiant1

I know why I bought this, but I don't know why I bought this. If that sounds confusing, lets just say i bought this today... Q Well, to me it would all depend on how much you paid. At a certain price level, I would buy every copy of this book that I could get my hands on. At full guide I wouldn't be in the market since I already have it. I have multiple copies of the Killian Barracks issue as that's another one I will buy when I see it for a lower price. Do you have any idea how Bob Burden is doing? I know he had some health problems a while back. There hasn't been a new issue of the Carrot in a while. I think he might also be doing the new Gumby book and I haven't seen an issue of that since the first one came out, either.

I'm not supposed to tell what I paid Bob came up to me at a show a few months ago and said hello. He seemed okay. I think the illness wore him down a lot. I was buying that Dark Horse promo item above in this thread the day I saw him.

I am really loving this short Comic Company. I believe there are only 61 Comic issues not including the Magazines and that is half the fun of it. It appears doable if you continually look for it. I know some people have them all. Ive narrowed my list down to about 20 - 30 left to go. I know that is still a ways, but I am a lot closer that I was a year ago. I do have Vicki #1 and 2, but I think she went up to 4. I would love to find the rest of her books. For an Archie Rip off, this series book was well put together. I actually read them and enjoyed them and could tell who the "Archie" copycat was and the rest of the copycats. Plus I think it was like 64 pages. Its a shame this series didnt get further. Im scooping up every cheap copy I can find whether I have it already or not.

I have little pieces here and there. I have always wanted one of these, but I never see anyone have them. At least in person. I would imagine its not all that difficult to find on ebay. But this seems like one of those books that you wouldnt normally buy until you happened upon one in person. I keep waiting for that moment on this book. I also wish you would reveal the going rate normally (I dont know) and what you paid for it.

Overstreet listed it at $50. I'd say it's a VF+/NM. Most collectors would be happy if you called it a NM. I don't think I got a bad deal. I just don't think it is a book I was crying to own. Q

Once you get to the magazines, you better plan on setting aside a huge chunk for Gothic Romances #1. I don't own ANY of the magazines. If not for picking up the comics at a buck or two a piece, I'd have given up on this set entirely. Shadow at www.comicspriceguide.com owns a copy... Defiant1

I have the regular version of the Captain Eo book. That Two Gun Kid book is sweet, I'd love to have that. As for the Bucky book...uh oh, you and Knightt have something in common, he just picked up a copy of this, as well. I still need one, but my Continuity collecting is way back on the back burner.

As for the Bucky book...uh oh, you and Knightt have something in common, he just picked up a copy of this, as well. I still need one, but my Continuity collecting is way back on the back burner. All were unexpected finds. According to CPG the EO book was sold at Disney World. I suspected that after getting it home and reading the indicia. Te Two-Gun Kid book is one my friend asked me to be on the lookout for. Once I realized how impossible it was to find, i started thinking it was pretty cool. I never knew there was a varint, but i don't know the differences yet. The continuity find was really weird. Last December I was searching book sites for it. I found one in Avondale GA. online. I looked up the address for the business and drove about 15 to 20 miles to find the place that had it. As I narrowed down the address I realized it was someone selling from their home. I abandoned my search. At the show today i was lured into a walk-in booth by some platinum age comics on display. There were a lot of cool items like Fireside Books, EC books and books about comics. I was about to leave and the guy hands me his business card. I recognized the address. I said "Do you have a continuity TPB". He said he didn't know what i was talking about. I said "Bucky O'Hare" and he went straight to it. He just made it easy for me. He had some underground comics too. Seems like he had a low grade copy of Fabulous Freak Brothers #1 or #2 labeled 2nd Print. It was G or G/VG. I decided I have too much stuff already. Q

Q Probably no big loss if it was a 2nd print and low grade. I wish I could find someone locally that would bring undergrounds to a show. Went to a show today, plenty of good deals, I got 75 comics from one guy for $30. I just missed out on a copy of Rai #3 as I saw some other guy pull it out of a box I hadn't gotten to yet. I know I inadvertantly said "s#!t" out loud, because the guy looked over at me. Oh well...

He had some ashcan or digest sized Basil Wolverton items that interested me. He had the platinum age comics that interested me. He had one Little Orphan Annie book with the dust jacket. He had a "Uneeda" #1 or something like that with "1st print?" on the sticker. Several other things with R. Crumb covers. Defiant1

Defiant1 Uneeda is one of those weird books that have several printings, but there is no discernable way to tell the difference between them. I believe the first six printings of Uneeda are all identical, so they are ALL considered 1st prints. I have a few copies of that book. I doubt if I would bother getting in touch with the guy any time soon because there is so much I'm watching on eBay right now, so I won't bother. Thanks for offering!

He knew about this and was planning to include it in his update to his site later in the month. I've finally reinstalled my FTP software and last night I started looking for a backup of my sm.dat file that was lost in my last hard drive crash. The sm.dat file stores all the server info & passwords. Q

Defiant1 Since I have been spending money on vehicle repairs at a faster rate than I'd like, I went ahead and sold this to my friend. He was the one who keyed me in to it's significance. I made a few bucks which covered my admission to the show that day. I figured he still needed a copy. He bought it and then showed me the 6 other copies he owns. He had one in nicer shape, but my copy had a brighter color. I may still replace it in the future, but for now I'm without. Q
